No matter how crappy the movie looks, most Avatar fans will go and watch it anyway, right? I mean, if Mike and Bryan are involved then it can't be a complete catastrophe.
And even if it is, just get some hot young actor to play Zuko and you're pretty much assured that fangirls will go and see the film

Is anyone else worried here except me? Lord of the Rings, huh? Well, here is what I know:

    1. M. Night Shyamalan, director of such stinkers as "The Village" and "Lady in the Water", who seems to have lost his ability to make a good film, is directing this movie and calling all the shots.

    2. MTV films and NICK studios, two of the worst studios in existence (and directs opposites in the movies they usually make, I might add) are working TOGETHER to make this movie.

    3. Sokka is rumored to be played by a white actor.

    I fear for this movie.

yeah but both mike and brian will be working on the movie as well. so i doubt they will let the movie go off tangent.

you're wrong about number 1. the creators of avatar, mchael dante dimartino and bryan konietzko, will be working with shyalaman on teh movies.

Yeah, but he still is the director.

    1. The show creators may be giving their input, but M. Night gets to choose if he uses it or not. He can mutilate the story in any way he wants, he can delete parts and add in stuff that he wrote (and he can't seem to write a good movie these days).

    2. This movie is outside his usual genre.

    3. He usually writes and directs his stuff, so I doubt he will be good at accepting someone else's opinion.

Overall, the odds of the WHOLE SHOW not being hijacked by him and the studios are a million to one.

dont forget that m. night shayamalon also help create the second harry potter movie! and the village was good it was that the people didnt get the realization of twhat that movie meant and also lady in the water was an excelllent movie!! ust think how well M night wil do portraying all the stories in avatar and how well he'll keep them making since as in what he did for the mixture of plots and the story line in lady in the water, which was pretty confusing but he directed it to where it made since.

Wow, I'm amazed that he was helping on the Harry Potter movie, but I must disagree with you on the other 2 movies. You seem to have forgotten that even CRITICS hated both movies (or most of them did), and they would be the first to spot any meaning in "the village".

the lady in the water was a good story and someitng NEW, and that only part i like about the village is that it seems like it took place in the 1700s in actually it was present day, and theres alot of meaning in that! but i think the avatar world is the same portrayal bc in the avatar world it seems like it is taking place in the 1800, with the steam ships, canon, blasting jelly but no guns and then some other apsects of it seem like it was in ancient times. so if M. night could do a great job portraying the time frame as he did in the village maybe hell make since of the avatar world in the movie?? maybe??

I am totally not feeling Hallie Kate Eisenberg as Katara. I mean, really. Her skin is too light, and her teeth... just so not Katara in my book.
