Take it from the Mother of the Avatar Boards: The mods have turned this Avatar forum from a place to chat and joke and correct grammar to a straight-up killing fieldz. SalFishFin, carmellina, Atu_1, Sgt. Hydra, and Nalesnik were all victims. Who's next? |

I've been racking my brain to understand what on earth could have prompted these recent acts.
Let's face it, SgtHydra is the poster child for dripping sarcasm. He is funny as heck but extremely sarcastic, which of course, is why I love him so.
Nalesnik was always the calm voice of reason when things went haywire on the forum. He very rarely engaged in noob-bashing that I could see and always asked his fellow posters to see the rational side of things.
So I feel this blanket sweep ban rampage had more to do with making a point and striking fear into the hearts of veteran TV.comers here on the Avatar forum than actually ridding the forum of any chronic trollers, because clearly Nales and Sarge didn't fall into that category.
But why did they do it and what point were they trying to make?

Look truth is this isn't the first time a large number of more long time posters got banned in mass. If anyone remember Grintooth, g_u_p, Realius, xlAVATARlx, and about 4-5 others all got banned at once about a year and half ago. Truth it was a clear violation of the TOS they did with a group account, however, they all talked about doing for a month or better in open on the forum and not one mod or tv.com person said anything to remind them that is was a violation. None got warnings and near all never had even once gotten a TOS violation before. The fact is this type of stuff has always happened on boards like this and will continue to always happen, the people, the topics or reasons change but the actions will continue to be the same. It is sad when it happens, no doubt, but make no mistake, it will happen from time to time even under the best of circumstances and whether malice was intended or not. Hopefully, for those who were close to those who were banned, they still have the means to stay in touch with them even with them no longer here. After all the friendship made was the most important thing not where you are able to talk with them.

I cannot stand it when authority figures enforce rules on experienced users for silly situations just to make a point. That's toying with someone's feelings.

reported 3 people. I think. I reported that mario guy for posting those nukes everywhere, I reported that guy for accusing me of rape, and I reported one other guy, I can't remember why. |
I'm still pretty new here, so I don't know/haven't memorized all of the rules exactly. I'm a person that will follow the rules if and only if they are logical and make sense to me (like if I'm waiting at a red light and there is no one else around to wait for, WTF? I'm going to go!). But this onslot of new rules and regulations that seems to have come out of no where and just happens to only affect the super vetrans and not the ??ber n00bs seems a bit unlogical to me.

Same here.
But sadly not everyone thinks that way. To them bad=bad, even if it doesn't affect anyone.

He probably doesn't care. He's not one for forums anyway; he constantly makes fun of me because I'm always on this forum. And he's also somewhat of an Avatar fan, emphasize on the somewhat, but he'd never make a habit out of being a true fan.
