Who's the true girl for Spongebob?

On valentines day with his valentine, he finds out Sandy's valentine was for her mother. He gives her the valentine anyway (while blushing) and she loves it, and thanks him by playing karate the whole day and SpongeBob sees that their relationship didn't change at all.
    Thanks! maybe that's why (outside the reason that it's a kid's show) Spongebob doesn't make a whole lot of moves on Sandy. He doesn't think Sandy likes him back

    I wonder what's with Larry though. Does he like Sandy too? in Ripped Pants, it seemed like he was trying to get Sandy away from Spongebob.
    I don't think Larry likes Sandy. Maybe SpongeBob thought he was trying to steal his girls or something, but I don't think he meant to take her away from SpongeBob.
    Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. Larry seems too egotistical to like Sandy. Maybe he'd date one of the fish females though. Is this true? I read it from a review, but it quotes Steve Hillenburg said it: 'SpongeBob is like a child, optimistic and energetic,' says creator-exec producer Steve Hillenburg. 'But I think adults will like him because we throw him into surreal situations.' Hillenburg combined his background as a marine biologist with his hobby as a surfer to dream up SpongeBob's underwater fantasy-land, which includes employment at the Krusty Krab, a fast-food restaurant. 'Adults will want to check out SpongeBob's girlfriend, Sandy Cheeks, the surfer squirrel--she's pretty cool too,' says Hillenburg."
    Ok, that's confusing.
    At the bottom the reviewer said Hillenburg said, she was Spongebob's girlfriend. But forget this review, it was in 2001.

    zzzzzzz haha good point. But winnie the pooh is a little childish, smaller children watch that. But almost all sge watch spongebob so, i think they should date.

     Yup, they wun date. Spongebob juz treat Sandy as a friend. Anyway juz because u think that girl is pretty doesn't mean that u like that girl.

    Probably won't happend. Stephen H. said he wanted Spongebob to be the only unique character who's a sponge (besides his parents). But they should at least bring in one just ONCE.
