Who's the true girl for Spongebob?

    I think SpongeBob is way too childish to have a relationship. I don't think he's got special feelings for anyone. And I doubt it would ever happen that he'll have a girlfriend, because some people (like me) doesn't see Sandy (for example) and SpongeBob romantically involved, so they would be shocked if they suddenly get together. And then again, books about SpongeBob and Sandy's "love" is just fan fictions that someone wrote and send it to Nickelodeon, who then started to sell the books. And for those signs in the show, that SpongeBob likes Sandy, I guess it's all friendship, because SpongeBob likes Squidward and Patrick a lot too (I do not say he's gay but he do like them), he likes everyone. And the creator really said that all characters in SpongeBob SquarePants are somewhat asexual, so they aren't gay or straight.

    Sandy Cheeks! one of the first episodes even had a dating/jealousy thing going on. It probably will never happend though . Sandy's not in many episodes, but I'm thinking the book's an episode we never get to see.

    Since some don't agree on the different species thing, I'd say a girl sponge. But Stephen said he wanted Spongebob and his parents to be the only sponges, so they'll stand out (something like that).

    Here's some more: Nature Pants- After getting itchy and wanting to go home. Spongebob looks at what he misses most: Krabby Patties and Sandy's house.

    Squirrel Jokes- Brings her flowers again. And the look they give eachother at the end.

    Surprise Sandy Day- That's obvious. He thinks she's the most prettiest and intelligent squirrel in Bikini Bottom. It could be just friendlieness but who knows?

    Nick's original biography for Sandy- Sandy Cheeks is a sea dome-dwelling squirrel who lives for action and adventure. Having attempted just about every death-defying stunt under the ocean, she's accepted the ultimate challenge: living underneath it in an oxygen-filled dome. Sandy is Bikini Bottom's only resident rodent, and the apple of SpongeBob's eye (the only thing under the sea he likes better than his job at the Krusty Krab). For Sandy, SpongeBob is the sea bottom's best stunt buddy, and when they get together, crash helmets and parachutes are usually required.

    Also, Stephen Hillenburg mentions on the season 1 dvd box set that he wants SpongeBob and Sandy to be friends, not boyfriend and girlfriend.

    True. It probably wouldn't work out anyways. But can someone please tell me what happends in that Spongebob/Sandy Valentines book who's read it? They never got together but they look like they like eachother. Why else does Spongey always try to impress her?
