So, It Starts with this: we all love spongebob, but the old ones are overrated.

It's like the feeling when most fans get when someone insults this show or calls it stupid. It's pretty similar to how you feel when people say "new SpongeBob sucks" and I'm NOT saying they suck.

    @money3003: That's okay... yeah, it does bug me that some people say the new episodes SUCK... I enjoy all the seasons even though Season 6 was not the best, I still like that season though. Season 8 has been a major improvement with all of the new episodes and I love them except for "Squidward's School For Grown Ups" (That's the only Season 8 episode that does suck).

    Why am I so amused at reading the posts after mine? Anyways... with threads that ignite the increasingly-common "Nostalgists VS Purists" (can someone suggest a better name for the latter?) wars on TV.com, you'd think that the mods would probably start regulating on these kinds of threads.

    Then again, it would probably make the issues worse.

    @fweepers - If you're gonna survive on the SpongeBob forums, you have to learn that Nostalgists and Purists are gonna get into civil wars with each other, especially when topics like these are started. Also, learn how to respond to people on the internet properly. It seems to me that the forumites acted rude to you because you sounded quite rude back in your posts (and if you ask me, I agree with them).

    Going back on topic... they still haven't aired the Season 8 episodes across the pond, so I don't know anything about the supposed better quality.

    Season 1: A+
    Season 2: A+
    Season 3: B
    Season 4: C-
    Season 5: F-
    Season 6: F-
    Season 7: F
    Season 8: F-
    But seriously, most of you guys bring drama to each other. New fans VS. Old fans. Grow up. Did Siskel and Ebert agree on everything? No. Everyone has tastes, and you should only be rude if someone else is flaming. Bashing someone six feet under the ground isn't really mature.

    Season 4 saved the show?!? From what? Quality writing? I don't care about your tastes, it doesn't concern me in any way whatsoever, but I'm making the point on how I feel. They're overrated for a simple reason. They were good.... Most people agree with that it seems. Others don't for god knows why...


    Season 1: A-
    Season 2: A+
    Season 3: A++
    The Movie: A-
    Season 4: D+
    Season 5: F-
    Season 6: F-
    Season 7: F-
    Season 8: F-


    That's how I view it!

    Okay i think i will explain it like this:


    Season 1: Disaster.


    Season 2: Fine, but still not good.


    Season 3: Another Disaster Season.


    Season 4: Better Then Seasons 1-3, but still...Actually......It's Exactly the same as Season 2.


    Season 5: It was almost alot better then Seasons 2 & 4...but it's actually ALOT better then Seasons 1-4...But Atlantis Squarepantis Was A Complete Disaster...Other than the "Are We There Yet?" short. that short/clip. that was funny!


    Season 6: Spongicus was a little crazy & the rest of the 1st half, but the 2nd half was.......... PERFECT!


    Season 7: PERFECT!


    Season 8: PERFECT!

    Here are my ratings although they are still UNOFFICIAL:


    Season 1: 8/10


    Season 2: 8.7/10


    Season 3: 8.7/10


    Season 4: 7/10


    Season 5: 6/10


    Season 6: 3.5/10


    Season 7: 5/10 (I've seen majority of it but not all)


    I still have no rating for Season 8 yet except for the first three episodes:


    Oral Report: 5.5/10


    A Friendly Game: 6/10


    Sentimental Sponge: 5/10


    I actually thought I would love them but these episodes actually disappointed me. Sorry.

    MY RATINGS:


    Season 1: 7/10, B (Great start, but not my favorite season)


    Season 2: 9/10, A- (Contains some of my favorite episodes of the series)


    Season 3: 9.5/10, A (The best of the series, IMO)


    Season 4: 6/10, C- (Not that good, but had some funny episodes)


    Season 5: 5/10, D (Had to much gross humor, especially towards the end)


    Season 6: 7.5/10, B- (Still too much gross humor, but I thought it was better than the previous two seasons)


    Season 7: 8/10, B+ (The best in years)


    Season 8 (so far): 8.5/10 (These episodes are like what the show used to be: No enourmous cheeks for SpongeBob, less episodes featuring the "Plankton vs. Krabs" plot, SpongeBob no longer cries for no reason, etc.)



    Fweepers, no offense, but you sound like you're just desperately trying to get love to newer seasons. Remember, I don't mean to offend you if I did.

    I would not say Seasons 1-3 were disasters, but I loved them, and you don't have to keep on saying how much you hate them, even without barely giving a reason.
