    This Avatar vs. Sponge war can be compared to the current and still going Kataang vs. Zutara war. And that's saying something...

    Spongebob won for so many years now and just say that we're all being reasonable here...

    So Avatar won, it was about time that the show got its props. It's a great show. Just actually try and watch it instead of pretending it's annoying. Unlike a lot of you, I've actually tried to watch Spongebob, and at some point I did like it. But shows die out just like anything else.

    An here's a plus for you Sponge fans...
    This year, yep, 2008, is the last year for Avatar. It's going to end. Season three is the last one. So just let us enjoy our prize while we can.


    Nicely said Avatarsensation. The KCAs are just a stupid award show, it's not something to fight about. I pesonally think that the Avatar fans should say to the Spongebob fans "Good game, and good luck to you next year" and the Spongebob fans should say to the Avatar fans "Nice job on winning. No hard feelings" They are just shows with big fan bases, and the KCAs are just orange blimps that u can make with any modeling clay. So fans, please stop fighting. I'm an EEnE fan and I'm not fighting. So let's just stop this before it turns into a war. Thank You.

    Please, please sponge fans, just leave us be. We waited 9 MONTHS for season three. It's been 4 months since The Day of Black Sun and still no new episodes. We're suffering more than you think. It's just so nice that after all of our devoted time and dedication our favorite show gets its props. I know we're obsessed. We all know.
    Trust me, when Avatar is over, it's going to be hard for most of us. You have no idea how dedicated we avatards are to the show. It might even be the best thing that ever happened so far to a lot of us.
    When you win next year, or get nominated, there's a BIG chance the Avatar will not. So let us be happy while we can. Don't bash us. As many site have said, we are one of the most dedicated fanbases alive. Go ahead and bash Avatar, we'll proudly defend what we love. It won't change our opinions just like our arguments won't change yours. But don't flame the fanbase. We know what we're capable of and we'll bring out the batallions if we have to.

    To the Spongebob fans: Spongebob is shown at least five times everyday. Avatar was shown for first time on Thursday in months! Nick obviously cares more about SB because it makes money. They don't care that much about the fanbase, they don't care how good the show is; they care if they make a profit. Nuff said.

    Well, I don't really want to argue anymore. Like other users have said, this is nothing to fight about. Both sides are being very immature, so I think we should just push this whole fight behind us. I know that Avatar will be ending soon, so I agree now that they deserve all the happiness from it that they can have . I know what it is like for your favorite series to end. An anime that I love titled Yu Yu Hakusho (it has been my favorite series ever since I got into it, 6 years ago), has ended for me last month, and I was very sad afterwards. The thought of no more waiting for new surprises, no more suspense, all over. I feel that all of you will feel the same when Avatar is over. So take my advice: enjoy as best as you can while you can , and when it is over, try collecting the dvds so you will always have it, and can look back on it whenever you want to .

    Thank you. That was well appreciated...by me at least. Trust me. I know what it's like too. It was that way for Harry Potter...wow that was horrible. But Avatar...I'm into it more than Harry Potter. It's basically all I do on the internet, or tv. I'll be way more than devestated.

    I'm sorry, but you've actually gotten me quite mad. Those 7 points have been pointed out in almost every Avatar-defense post as of yet in this thread and you keep asking ignorantly "what makes Avatar better?".

    Try reading other peoples' posts first, then understanding them before babbling about how they're just spamming. Green's posts were very thoughtful and nicely worded. It didn't totally bash Spongebob (which everyone seems to think we're doing all the time) - it gave reasons as to why Spongebob is inferior to Avatar and why Spongebob has lost its flair over the past few seasons. Learn. To. Read.

    Oh, and for the record, when Spike mispelled "the" as "teh", it was an insult to you because you couldn't even identify it as a deliberate insult.

    Also, and just for the hell of it, because I know you'll point this out, I know that "Learn" and "To" and "Read" aren't sentences on their own. It was for the dramatic effect (something you're obviously not used to huh?) and stress.

    I just want to tell to all the SpongeBob fans and all the Avatar fans that all the world think in a diferent way, if you don't like something that don't means that nobody else like it and doesn't matter how many insults you make that's not going to change the form of think of the people

    So, if you don't like Avatar don't watch it and don't insult to the Avatar fans, to my cousins likes Avatar and they're one of my favorite cousins of all, because I doesn't care if they like it, becuase they're awesome and a cartoon it's not going to change my mind

    And if you don't like SpongeBob I say the same, just don't watch it and don't insult to the SpongeBob fans, I love the show, but not to all the people like it, a lot of my classmates don't like it so much, but I don't hate them for that, but when the people insult me and insult my form of think and my feelings I get angry because they judge you

    So just think about it

    That's almost exactly how Avatards feel about a fanbase that thinks they're superior to a show when they haven't given the show more than 20 minutes of attention (because most people claim to have watched one episode, and episodes are only about 22-24 minutes long [6-8 minutes for commercials]).

    Well, I know it's dificult to believe but I have seen Avatar at the beginnig, well, I watched like 10 episodes, but then I don't like it and know I don't see it

    It's bad that the people judge you, just for the things you like, maybe you like SpongeBob or Avatar, but that don't means that you're ever talking about that and I don't judge to the Avatar fans, if they like Avatar, well, they decided it

    Can I make a suggestion? Maybe you should give a couple of the later episodes a chance. Imo, season 1 was the worst of the 3, and the first half of that season was the worst half. I didn't like avatar until I watched an episode from season 2 because I was bored. The show took awhile to realize it's potential.

    No, seriously. Avatar actually has a plot line, character development, creative humor, realistic problems(so to speak), romance, good vs. evil confrontations, and it actually makes sense. Whereas, Spongebob is a washed out sitcom with no plot, character development, or realistic action to any degree.     There is no character development whatsoever. The characters are exactly the same as when the show started back in 1999. In fact, it seems as though the characters are stuck in a time bubble in which time is prolonged and the year never ends. They never grow older and nothing ever changes. However, in Avatar, the characters are always discovering new things about themselves and of each other. Romance, the key component of thousands of tv shows stretching across history plus books and movies, is displayed in Aang's undeniable affection for Katara. Bryan and Mike, Avatar's creators, have shown the viewers on multiple occasions that they are not afraid "ruining" the show by killing characters off, like Yue, Zhao, and Jet. This gives the show some real depth, something that no other Nick show possesses which makes it truly unique.

    Spongebob has many fence-sitting viewers. They don't adore Spongebob, but they can say that they enjoy it once in a while. They believe the show is "humorous" and Patrick's stupidness can make them chuckle in the very early morning before they catch the bus or whatever. I am one of those fence-sitters.     Yes. There are hundreds of Avatar forums on the Internet being operated frequently as we speak, such as AvatarSpirit, Distant Horizon, Blue Spirit Gal, Kataang Forever, Avatar Portal, dong Bu Feng, Airbender.tk, Airbender.net, and many many more. Do you think that the Avatar forums would just sit by and watch Spongebob kick Avatar out of the run? No. I myself must have voted at least 50 times a day and I can say the say the same for my fellow KFers(of Kataang Forever) and those on other Avatar forums.

    How many Spongebob forums do you know of? I know of none. Perhaps there are a couple, but are they really active? Are any of you surprisingly undying Spongebob worshipers a member of a Spongebob forum? My guess is no. Avatar creations make up half of Deviant Art. There are over 13,000 Avatar fanfics on Fanfiction.net. Currently(I looked), there are 768 Spongebob fanfics on Fanfiction. Avatar is sweeping the nation. I must say that there probably are more Spongebob viewers than Avatar viewers, but Avatards like me can make up the strength of 100 Spongebob fans. We are devoted 100% to everything Avatar.

    We're obsessed, you say? Yes. We are. xD

    Avatar is stronger than any non-Avatards wish to believe. If it was based on fandom strength, Avatar would be the most poular show on television.

    So next time you wonder why Avatar beat Spongebob or any other show in any event, you will know the answer.

    Anyway, my two cents. (read: not a flame, not spam, my opinion).

    I tried to watch Atlantis Squarepantis, didn't get past the first five minutes. It was horrific.

    Now, Avatar: The Day of Black Sun. This kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end. Comedy, Suspense, twists, Romance, and Action all rolled up into a neat 44 minute package. Atlantis Squarepantis couldn't boast that, and it had WAY more advertising for it than The Day of Black Sun. Now all you must need to do to know which one is better is look at the episode ratings here for both specials.

    As for Spongebob, I haven't seen much of the new episodes that everyone is saying sucks, but as for the show as a whole I've grown up and out of it. Eventually, it's time to leave the playground. But Avatar walks a razor's edge, just outside of yet beyond that playground. I still watch the occasional Spongebob episode, but to me, Avatar is clearly the better show for reasons already stated here. It's actually pointless to compare the two shows because they are both entirely different from each other. Avatar is aimed toward about a 4 years or more older crowd (Ages 7+) than Spongebob is. (Ages (x) months +) It's just that Spongebob gets about 5 hours or more worth of airtime everyday and only Nicktoons really plays Avatar, which most people have to order an upgrade to their tv services to get. If Avatar aired at all on Nick while the Sponge is sucking up all the air time, Avatar fans wouldn't be so P'Oed at Spongebob. But it's not right to attack the fans of Spongebob because they don't tell Nick what to do.

    My father likes the show. (And this guy's favorite "anime" is Boondocks) So that's how you know Avatar got better potential.

    And as you can see most Avatards have great spelling.

    While most Spongies (That's I've seen) Are a bunch of yelling freaks, arragant, and totally deny everything that's in front of them.
