    Exactly! So who needs Spongebob?

Once again, you aren't paying attention to my posts. The new shows these days are no good. So why put them in place of Nick's biggest money maker ever?

Because that's also not so good.

Then why is it one of the most loved shows on Earth?

Apparently it's not. It lost the Kids Choice Awards.

    2. Apparently more kids like action, plot, and storytelling than random jokes. The voting proved that.

The voting proved what? Avatar gets an award? If you think it is more popular, then the SpongeBob SquarePants title "most popular show on Nick of all time" proves you wrong.

    dantedones wrote:

Been living in a cave, have you?

Then why does it have a lower TV.com score, lower amount of active members, and lost the kids choice awards? Popularity means more people like it.

One website doesn't prove how popular a show is worldwide: the world does.

Look at it like this. If I went outside and said to someone "do you know who SpongeBob is" they would say "of course! He is a Nick character" or" yeah, he lives in a pinapple!". If I went out to someone and said "do you know who aang is" you would get a mix of:
    1. Yes, he is from Avatar!
    2. Erm... I have heard of him.
    3. Nah, sorry...
It is common knowledge that SpongeBob SquarePants is the most popular show on Nick.

Popularity: the favor of the general public or of a particular group of people. Popular doesn't mean well known, it means well liked. Alot of people have heard of Bird Flu too, doesn't mean it's popular.
Oh burn! Okay..sorry. You'd be good in a debate team. XD

And just to add to the cause...
Just because a lot of people know what the Lakers are, it oesn't mean that they're liked...ALL AROUND THE WORLD. Think about that for a bit.

Actually the *burn* is on him. Why, you may ask? Because when he defined popularity, he left out the part that proves him wrong, cleary because it shows that I am right. So please, think before you post, okay? Thanks

First of all...green_kataang, I officially honor you for your posts. POETRY. XD

    Secondly...
Tell me, talonmalon333, what exactly proves him wrong then that proves you're right? According to the dictionary, he basically defined the word 'popularity' correctly.

Like I said, Spongebob has more viewers, but they are people who might not even notice if Spongebob ended.

And like someone said above me, Avatar is like, a religion for some people. it just has more fandom strength. *shrug*

I was trying to stay away from this thread, but gosh darnit all, it's too hard. You Spongebob fans have no sense of humor! At least us Avatards (look at what we call ourselves) know when to take a joke. Yes, Avatar can be a little corny sometimes (it's a fanstasy story, it's bound to be corny) but it tells a good story, has most of the time good animation, and knows when it should end!

Spongebob was good, oh, over a 100 years ago. But I think, as many people have said, it's past its prime. It's time for Spongebob to die before it, God forbid, gets any worse.

A synonym and a definition are different dude. You didn't say Spongebob is more common.(Which it is. Replayed way more often. ) You said it's more popular, which is pretty clearly false from the award.

Well, the fact that Avatar is an all around better show helps out. xD

No, seriously. Avatar actually has a plot line, character development, creative humor, realistic problems(so to speak), romance, good vs. evil confrontations, and it actually makes sense. Whereas, Spongebob is a washed out sitcom with no plot, character development, or realistic action to any degree. Everything in the newer episodes Spongebob is repetitive to it's episodes back in the show's "glory days." Will Plankton forever try to steal the krabby patty formula only to be put in despair? Will Spongebob forever be the little immature child figure he is now?

There is no character development whatsoever. The characters are exactly the same as when the show started back in 1999. In fact, it seems as though the characters are stuck in a time bubble in which time is prolonged and the year never ends. They never grow older and nothing ever changes. However, in Avatar, the characters are always discovering new things about themselves and of each other. Romance, the key component of thousands of tv shows stretching across history plus books and movies, is displayed in Aang's undeniable affection for Katara. Bryan and Mike, Avatar's creators, have shown the viewers on multiple occasions that they are not afraid "ruining" the show by killing characters off, like Yue, Zhao, and Jet. This gives the show some real depth, something that no other Nick show possesses which makes it truly unique.

    CONTINUED ON NEXT POST!

And I haven't even mentioned the fan base, yet.

Spongebob has many fence-sitting viewers. They don't adore Spongebob, but they can say that they enjoy it once in a while. They believe the show is "humorous" and Patrick's stupidness can make them chuckle in the very early morning before they catch the bus or whatever. I am one of those fence-sitters. One of the one's who wouldn't't really care if Spongebob ended, which Nick should do if they are smart. Avatar, though, has the some of the most devoted viewers possibly in television history. Does anyone remember Avatar's epic win for best show on TV.com recently?

Yes. There are hundreds of Avatar forums on the Internet being operated frequently as we speak, such as AvatarSpirit, Distant Horizon, Blue Spirit Gal, Kataang Forever, Avatar Portal, dong Bu Feng, Airbender.tk, Airbender.net, and many many more. Do you think that the Avatar forums would just sit by and watch Spongebob kick Avatar out of the run? No. I myself must have voted at least 50 times a day and I can say the say the same for my fellow KFers(of Kataang Forever) and those on other Avatar forums.

How many Spongebob forums do you know of? I know of none. Perhaps there are a couple, but are they really active? Are any of you surprisingly undying Spongebob worshipers a member of a Spongebob forum? My guess is no. Avatar creations make up half of Deviant Art. There are over 13,000 Avatar fanfics on Fanfiction.net. Currently(I looked), there are 768 Spongebob fanfics on Fanfiction. Avatar is sweeping the nation. I must say that there probably are more Spongebob viewers than Avatar viewers, but Avatards like me can make up the strength of 100 Spongebob fans. We are devoted 100% to everything Avatar.

We're obsessed, you say? Yes. We are. xD

Avatar is stronger than any non-Avatards wish to believe. If it was based on fandom strength, Avatar would be the most poular show on television.

So next time you wonder why Avatar beat Spongebob or any other show in any event, you will know the answer.

This war is still going on?

How about this? Avatar the best cartoon for people that like deep action shows, while Spongebob is the best cartoon for people who like silly, comedic shows. Are we happy now? I don't even like Spongebob anymore, I'm just sick of this war.

Let's look at this from my perspective, shall we?

definition- the act of defining or making definite, distinct, or clear.

synonym- A word having the same or nearly the same meaning as another word or other words in a language.

    And lastly, common...

common- belonging equally to, or shared alike by, two or more or all in question

Sounds to me like common isn't just describing Spongebob my friend. And besides, it also sounds like a pretty vague synonym for popularity too.
