Honestly, I was just answering someone's question and pointing out that this thread could incite a flame war, which I hope NEVER EVER happens. I heard that in the past, some immature people flamed this forum, but let me say that I'm not like that.

    Woah, woah, simmer down, people. Both shows are great, Spongebob had a great run, Avatar is simply amazing. Is there anything wrong with passing the torch? Spongebob had, what, a 4 year streak with this award? Can't another cartoon enjoy the spotlight for once? Spongebob doesn't have to win everything every year, have the most merchandising, the highest ratings all the time, or be flamed relentlessly OR have its fans flame others. Would the creators of either of these shows want a war? They might be flattered, then scared, but a decent person wouldn't want their own fans, however devoted they may be, to "shout" such insults at another fellow cartoon viewer.

    Okay, firstly... people can relate to a human that undergoes problems and stress and love in their life much, MUCH more than a sponge that's constantly happy and can do absurd things underwater like create a fire?.

    And if you actually watch Avatar, you'll know that the whole show is based around ending the war. Yes, it implies violence, but it has no blatant scenes of intense violence like you may see in say, Full Metal Alchemist (which, for the record, is an awesome show).

    People need joy and laughter, yes, but they also need to get out of their happy go lucky caves where they try to avoid the issues in the world and in everyday life. Issues like the ones addressed in Avatar. Not in Spongebob. In Avatar. And also, again, if you actually watched the show, you'd know that there's plenty of joy, plenty of laughter, plenty of heart-felt moments, and plenty of romance in there as well. But then I guess judgemental people are just that: judgemental.

    All of that formatting is in there for stress. See how I absolutely nullified your statement without even implying that Spongebob is gay Thanks. Enjoy. Bye.

    And for the record and the sheer truth of it all...

    PLOT PLOT PLOT!

    It's so much more fun to watch a show and anticipate what's going to happen and experience anxiety and actually FEEL something than to just know it's going to be filled with randomness.

    For the record, I've watched plenty of Spongebob. It's gotten stale and old and the jokes just aren't funny anymore. The original seasons were amazing, but now it's gotten boring. I hardly crack a smile when I watch it anymore.

    So don't anyone go around saying I'm biased towards Avatar because I don't watch Spongebob. I'm biased towards Avatar simply because I do not enjoy watching Spongebob anymore and frankly, Avatar > All.

    ugh! I am getting so sick of this! Spongebob won 5 years in a row! I like Spongebob, but Avatar is such a good show. It has action, adventure, and (dare I say it?) ROMANCE! It has an actual plot and I never know what will happen next. Avatar won because of the story line. And did I mention the romance? Yes I did. But I love it! Anyway, Why are you guys mad anyway? This is our first and last win ever. Once the last episode airs, (pun not intended) it's over. Be glad for your 5 year streak.

    If you haven't noticed, there is a difference! Spongebob was suppose to win each year, but guess what? He didn't win anything this year! It was Avatar's fault and he should never been nominated.

    OK listen, the reason why Spongebob lost, because ever since they fired the creator, Stephen Hillenburg, and got a new person, Spongebob went downhill a little. Seasons 1-3 were amazing and great, but when Seasons 4-6 came it went stale everything went random, some jokes weren't funny, and it was losing audience ,and most people thought the new specials were not that great. Avatar won because of it's plot and story line, and Spongebob dosen't have a focus show plot. I saw some episodes of Avatar and I got to say, I like it, because it has action, humor, drama, and romance. Also Avatar is ending this year, so atleast they won for the first and last. Plus, Spongebob has won for 5 years in a row. People thought they were sick of it, and they another show to have a chance. I do like Spongebob, but I think it should stay out of the spotlight and let Avatar to have a chance. Really guys, you should be happy that Spongebob had a 5 year streak. When I found out that Avatar won, I didn't get really angry, I was ok with it, and there's no reason to start another war between you and the Avatar fan just because Spongebob lost, just be happy that Spongebob won for 5 years in a row.
