And part of the reason I've stuck by it, is because I truly feel if they got together, the dynamic/comedy would be completely unaffected. Well other than the obvious addressing of the age issue of course, lol! They are actually funnier when they are worked together in scenes. Anyway, that being said, this episode kinda showed me what I had always feared about Seddie. Yes, some shows can work the slap slap kiss relationship. But Seddie has never felt slap slap kiss to me, unless Sam slapped twice I've always felt too much of the characters canon components would have to change to make it work, then making it unfunny. Carly was by far the funniest part of this episode! Miranda was absolutely perfect!! Loved the episode just because of her.

But to bring up an example, at the restaurant; Sam has ALWAYS eaten this way, ALWAYS. If Freddie has developed feelings for Sam, he technically shouldn't/wouldn't need her to change that--he never has before. It something that should come as no surprise---and if he 'loved' her or whatever tweens feel (lol--I'm almost 30) that would be part of it. Not something he'd feel the need to criticize. On the other side; Sam has always been completely independent! Worked at the chili place to pay them back money she owed; why in the EFF would she suddenly expect Freddie to pay $36 for a smoothie cup---I feel like 'normal' Sam would have found some way to scam the cup from T-Bo and enjoy then share it with him to show him how SHE does things.

Nothing feels right about the relationship, and I really don't think it can work without changing everything about the characters...which is why most shows with slap slap kiss wait until their final episode to satisfy the masses. I think Dan was just sick of hearing about it, but thats just IMO.

Now to throw out some Spam propaganda (because I can rarely make a post without doing so Wink) If it had been Sam and Spencer at that restaurant, even as friends, I can tell you they probably would have been pouring the Parmesan shaker directly into their mouths and conniving to see how they can get the bill reduced....now thats comedy! HAHAHA

    Anyway, my 2 cents..

I'm sorry, but they were just a hot mess, especially at the dinner scene. They JUST started dating FoN, fights already is not a good sign.

Possible, but they have known each other longer than that. Either they both have some pretty bad habits (Though I thought Freddie's behavior was worse than Sam's in some ways. He needs to learn to be more of a gentleman).

I agree his attitude at the dinner scene could have been better, but he was completely reasonable to not buy that big 'ol shake

Freddie was acting like a sissy the whole time. WHY SHOULD I PAY $36.00 FOR A CUP MEEHHH. and DONT TALK WIFF YOUR MOUTH FULL MEHH. Freddie, I love you, but BE MORE OF A MAN. Instead of saying "why should i pay", he should've said "Sam, I'm not buying that. I can buy you something else WAY better for the same price." Gosh, Freddie.

Yeah, nobody's perfect ps, nobody's perfect V_V XD

Freddie still has a lot to work on, though. Sam, given all we know about her, acted more like she was in a relationship than Freddie. But then we do know one thing, as unconventional as they were, Sam does have an idea on how relationships should go thanks to all her mother's relationships. Freddie...unfortunately he may be a lost cause.

EXACTLY! (oh and welcome back, I didn't think you'd return!!)

From a general "Seddie" perspective, the "game" should have stopped since they are dating and their feelings are pushed to conscious level and blahblahblah. However, at the same time they are still stuck in the same old routines of bickering. So they're a little confused and don't REALLY know what they should do. But WHY has there been such a change with their expectations of each other from the shift of their friendship to a relationship?? I've said this a million times, but I don't want Sam changing for any guy. Sam dumping parmesan on her lasagna and putting bees in a teacher's car is a part of who she is. So yes, if Freddie has these issues with it, then why does he even like her?? I hope that question is answered soon. Why does Freddie even like her to begin with??

Freddie has always been a perfectionist. He's probably nitpicky about little things like his mom. It's just a part of his character. Had Sam acted like Carly, maybe there wouldn't be such an issue. But then again, Sam wouldn't be herself and we wouldn't have progression would we?

And if it were Spencer and Sam?? Oh my god, that would be hilarious. I think Spencer would try a weird food combination, like ask for chocolate syrup and put it on top of the lasagna or something lol.

And didn't they say on iCarly "There's no such thing as too much cheese" or something like that when they were making Gibby Parmesan?? I think that's true...there's NO such thing as too much cheese! Unless you're lactose intolerant or something lol. Nothing wrong with that much cheese Sam...don't be embarrassed. Lol.

You see, here's my two cents on the issue (I apologize if it's been mentioned before. I don't actually feel like reading all 11 pages right now). I don't think it's the question of Freddie not liking these issues with her. I think it has more to do with the fact that this is still a new relationship and both seem to be stuck on the middle ground of old and new. They want to continue being the same bickering friends with each other, especially around Carly so they can remain as normal as possible (because they may both be afraid to venture into the unknown) but at the same time, they're dating now, which means that they have to make some sort of change in their relationship to make it work. They probably have seen how couples act (mostly around school cause Sam has been exposed to pretty weird relationships) and both are probably torn between acting like a couple and remaining normal so things won't get weird for them if they break up. All the fighting/bickering in this episode seemed, to me anyway, that they were definitely looking for small reasons to fight and neither actually cared about why they were fighting in the first place. The whole restaurant scene with Freddie nitpicking and Sam overreacting seems to be a coping mechanism right now, as they are still finding balance in their relationship. How can they make the transition from friends to boyfriend/girlfriend without freaking Carly out and not changing the entire course of their relationship? By fighting and getting Carly to intervene, of course. It's not that Freddie now hates the way Sam eats and is critisizing her for it. I mean, he fell for the real her and if she didn't eat that way or did the things that she did, it wouldn't be Sam, it wouldn't be the girl Freddie fell in love with. I think it's more to do with the fact that he's scared of change, as is Sam, and neither want to stop the 'games' that they play in fear that if they do, they'll break up and then where do they go? They can't go back to bickering because they opened the door of trust. But they now can't act nice toward each other because that would mean discovering a whole new side to their relationship and on this show, that's a scary thought to consider. I think they'll slowly ease their way into bickering less and being a proper couple more. They're still young and they're still learning the kinks of dating your best friend. And this is my interpretation without seeing the latest episode that just aired.

Aaaaand charmed wins all the awards! I think you hit the nail on the head. It actually hasn't been discussed in this episode that much. I mentioned something about the change of expectations since they are in a relationship. It did seem like they were looking for excuses to fight, because that is what they were used to. I still am processing this episode and what is happening in their relationship. Their relationship is so contrasting and contradicting.
