Are we sure it's only 1 mil. per episode? I heard it costs 2.5 mill.

This is why you are seeing more shows animated in flash these days. Because of the cost. Also isn't JN all done on a Mac?

Are you sure it said 2.5 mil? That seems a bit high for an animation show. Especially a Nick one. If it cost 2.5 mil I don't think it would be on air anymore. Maybe it got a slight raise with the 2nd season, but Invader Zim is the most expensive show they ever funded and that was for 1.2 mil. Doubt they'd double that just for one show. They wouldn't be able to make all that up in sales and commercials on a cable channel.

The show doesn't need more than three seasons, anyway. The next one will be the book of Fire, and we''ll all see the Day of Black Sun, when the Fire Nation comes crashing down and Ozai topples from his throne. Hopefully, Aang will manage to unlock his Thought Chakra by then.

Ok your all amazed that it takes 1 million dollars an episode, but through there merchandise (toys, DVD's, video games) they are easily able to make a PROFIT. And wow for taking 9 months, how many companies do they have working on the episodes?

ya know the irony about this though... it might take 1 mil per episode for an animation flick... but remember that those "Friends" stars were making 1 mil per episode for salary, that didn't include overhead costs

With that said, I would say Nick is getting a much better deal than some would think and my kudos to the writers/creators for producing such a great show on what appears to be a very minimal budget compared to what the "live" people get for putting out the crap they do.

Has anyone heard the saying "You get what you pay for?"

I'd say 1 mil per eppy is pretty sweet! Luckily, it's a very well-written show, otherwise all the money in the world couldn't save it.

I'm sure Nick is getting many happy returns on their 1 million per episode pricetag with advertising, tie-ins, etc. etc.

Why do some of you think it takes nine months to make one episode as in spending nine months on one episode. episodes are made like an assembly line. one group works on a certain part, then passes it on to the next group as new work for them comes in on the next episode.

That means if it took that long to make 1 episode than it would take??30 years just to make 2 seasons.Which is impossible.I used a calculator and you can check.9 months times 40 episodes(20 per season) is 360??months?? divided by 12 months(per year) is 30 years.??
