So you admit Naruto wastes time.
No it doesn't, DBZ wastes time.
DBZ is allot more interesting then both Naruto and Avatar, so whatchu talkin bout?

You wish. DBZ is a has-been. Besides, Naruto is, in a way, based loosely off of DBZ itself.
Loosely? DBZ alone is the only reason why crappy animes like Naruto are made, not to say DBZ is crappy though, just all these cliche Shounen that they keep coming out with

You don't know what you're talking about.

DBZ had no real story. Just a bunch of people threatening to blow up the earth.
Okay, and Naruto has a bunch of 12 year old ninjas, dressed in bright colors, preaching about the Will of Fire fighting with gardening knives? Come on, Naruto sucks. Fake kid ninjas, fighting crappy liche villains in a Candyland type of world

    Congratulations, Im an S-class retard.

You better go to Iraq or Burma and witness what you refer to as Candyland.

OMG...you did not just compare a cartoon with the real life sh*t storm that is Iraq.
He called himself a S-class retard There's nothing more you can do, other then acknowledge it
    Im estupid
    Fixed.

Also you're the moron, they are 12.

Only in part 1, dummy. In part 2, they are 15. Either you're still in your mother's womb and found some way to access the internet or you're horrible at math.
Okay,so now they're 9th graders, lol, 9th grade "ninjas", dressed in orange jump suits fighting evil....its still pretty much the same crappy show, only Naruto is going threw puberty

Meh, I could care less about your opinion.
The guy that watches a childs cartoon, of children playing Ninja, is telling me he doesn't care about MY opinion? Wow, you're f**king funny

and damn proud of it too. People who lock away their inner child are weak.

Besides, Naruto stopped being a children's show a long time ago. If you really think that blood and gruesome things make a kid's show, then show a group of kids some of the videos of Iraq and Burma.

Right, what's so unique about Naruto's villains?

Well they have a cool design and nice plan and plot. Plus they have their own charctersitics and own special attacks nothing you guys would know since this show marely has any attacks besides's the element bending.

If you're going to say that "the only attacks in Avatar are bending" (which they're not, swordsguys have kicked serious bendeer ***) then I can say "the only attacls in Naruto are jutsu". Bending is extremely versatile and not only used for fighting. Just because there's only four materials to use (five I guess, what with Toph's metalbending) doesn't mean there's not tactics and special techniques and stuff.

Also, Avatar characters can come up with something new if they're good enough with the basic understanding and technique. It's not memorizing moves and then perfecting them, it's perfecting the bending as a whole and utilizing the full versatility of their powers.

Ya but every1 except the Avatar can only bend 1 element. Also the attacks in Naruto are way more diverse than Avatar attacks.

One element, thousands of possibilities. Airbending can be used to keep your opponent away, blow stuff at them, blow them into something, blow them off of something, move faster, fly, acrobatics, etc, and that's an extremely broad way of putting it. Waterbenders can freeze water, therefore can trap their opponents, can use quick strikes like the water whip, cause a huge tidal wave to wash the opponent away and smash them into the ground, or even bloodbend them to your will. I think you get the idea.

Humm also very few of them use attacks that can actually kill. Aaang for example usually just pushes enemies back with wind.
Fights in Avatar are usually more focused on being short, interesting, and creative whereas fight sequences in Naruto are focused on being long, violent, and chaotic. Remember Avatar was designed to be targeted toward a wider audience range.

No, but they don't loose those to people. They loose it to non-material causes.

If you lost those things to an opponent that you thought yourself to be better than, you're gonna be pissed.

Besides, those people don't feel anything in their disabled limbs. Orochimaru's arms were in constant pain.

Hmm, due to the pointlessness of this thread, and the triviality of it, I'd normally just give a nice old rant, but instead, I'll just post a picture of Dr. Cox.

Back to any relevant interest that I've retained through reading this thread, which I have to say, it's rather interesting, I feel myself losing brain cells as I read it. Anyway, my question is this:

How in the hell did this get to 25 pages?

No I read it and to be fair Naruto characters can do most if not all of that stuff.

I'd also like to note that watching fights and actions sequences is actually entertaining in Avatar.

There is no: "Wow I'm really hurt. Time to talk for an hour. My childhood sucks so bad."

Second best post in this topic, next to Eman's.

    That post is purely exaggeration.
Not entirely. Every single piece of canon background is givin in the middle of a fight. Sometimes in the middle of the character about to be attacked by the other guy's best shot. Gaara comes to mind, except he was the one attacking mostly. Definetly Rock Lee. "I never was good at ninjutsus, so I worked hard at taijutsu." Childhood sucks, but it can make you a stronger person sometimes. Great message and all, but yeah, it gets redone a couple dozen times in Naruto. Not knocking it, but don't deny it either. The only characters who seem to have had normal childhoods are Shino and Tenten. And that's only because they haven't poured their soul while pouring out blood, yet.
but Ten Ten is not important

What usually makes a character important, is the fact that there has been some kind of tramatizing event or fact in their life. Isn't that why Aang is the main character? (He's the Avatar/ the only family he knew was wiped out when he ran away.) The same goes for Katara and Sokka. (Their mother was killed in a fire nation raid that wiped out most of their village.) And the same goes for Zuko. (His father was going to have him killed to obtain the throne/ his mother disappeared). Avatar uses the tramatizing past thing just as much as Naruto, so you can't say that it's over done. Plus, Sakura had a normal childhood. She was teased, but that isn't out of the ordinary.

Finally someone standing on the otherside of the debate but doesn't just say a couple words about it.
I agree with his posts as well, we're just bias. It'd be like trying to convince me that South Park is better than The Simpsons, for example. I 'm always going to think, IMO, that The Simpsons is better.

let's talk about another issue that Naruto has: TIME.

What's up with them long-ass speeches. I mean, in Real World Time, the villain would've accomplished whatever he done by the time one of Naruto's speeches was done.

If you really think that blood and gruesome things make a kid's show, then show a group of kids some of the videos of Iraq and Burma.
lol, inner child? Regardless, its not sh*t because its a kids show, its sh*t because its a sh*t show. And it is still is a kids show even now, regardless if you want to admit it, or not

    Only in your opinion.

Quality of any fictional work isn't a stone cold fact. It all depends on personal taste.

You guys are really repetive you talk about Naruto being repetive then you are surely mistaken none of you watch Naruto to know that or the manga for that matter. You guys are saying the same things but resiting it again, thats pathetic. Naruto is made up of original villains maybe a few have charcteristics for another show. The villains are unique rather than the taking over earth thing.

They're kids, they're still reluctant to kill. Also, Nick censorship again. You didn't really read my post, though, you gave no answer to my explanation.

No I read it and to be fair Naruto characters can do most if not all of that stuff.

But they don't, because they're too busy with killer sand and shadow clones.

What's up with them long-ass speeches. I mean, in Real World Time, the villain would've accomplished whatever he done by the time one of Naruto's speeches was done.

    That's standard shounen procedure.

If you watch the fights you'll see that there are numerous fighting styles and a lot of versatility in Avatar.

Toph is a prime example. Sandbenders use a whole different set of techniques for different purposes, and there's plantbending, metalbending, lightningbending, bloodbending, and tons of fighting styles for each.

    They get rarely used though.

Same move over and over again gets repetitive. Shadow Clone Jutsu ring a bell.

Ah point taken. But so does using the same element over and over.

It's not like it's airblast after airblast after airblast (although to be fair, there are quite a few of those). Somtimes you get tornados, sometimes you get gale sneezes, sometimes you get air bubbles, etc.

Ya but for me they all seem kind of the same.

Fights in Avatar are usually more focused on being short, interesting, and creative whereas fight sequences in Naruto are focused on being long, violent, and chaotic. Remember Avatar was designed to be targeted toward a wider audience range.
No? Avatar was designed toward a young audience.
There are people far older than me here that like the show including whole families.
