They do explain the origin of bending powers. In season 1 they explain that waterbenders learned water bending from the moon and ocean. In The Cave of Two Lovers they explain that the Earthbenders learned bending from the Badgermoles. Iroh and Jeong Jeong both explain the mechanics of firebending. Also in the unaired episode "The Firebending Masters" they explore the connections of the dragons to firebending. In addition each of the bending forms is based on a different style of Martial Arts and the movements are directly related to bending. Iroh shows that in "Bitter Work" how water bending moves can be used to bend lightning.

Their creatures of legend from a fantasy universe. I see no reason in explaining the exact origins of each single creature. They do explain some of the animals and spirits history and their effect on the world. I dont know everything about Naruto but I dont recall ever seeing an explanation for how creatures like talking toads or 9 tailed foxes can exist either. They are legendary creatures and their origins are supposed to be a mystery.

It is still correct to say though that a lot more explanations are given in Naruto than Avatar. Us fans are left to speculate a lot about things in Avatar that haven't been explained but thats a part of the fun. And as much as I like Naruto a lot of fans find the anime's biggest problem the need to explain every little detail. This explains the long length and slow pace of the show whereas Avatar focuses almost solely on the main story line but in the process leaving some things open. Each show has its own ups and downs.

As for character development Avatar has plenty of it. More interesting in Avatar are its flawed characters. Aang is the most powerful bender on the planet yet he is reluctant to help. He has grown a lot since the series but I agree that he has not undergone enough change seeing how he is still reluctant to defeat the firelord. His character development has not yet been completed.

Then don't confuse fillers with the actual Naruto.

Completely different. If Cartoon Network did some screwy censorship or poor marketing or did what they did with Avatar, I'd be like "Aww, sorry " We accept fillers are part of our show, why can't you accept yours?

Fillers in Naruto don't count because they're not from the manga. If it's not from the manga, it doesn't count.

This topic is about the shows if I remember correctly. Not the manga.

There basicaly the same thing, are you mad because avatar doesnt have one.

They're not the same thing, you just said the anime has 160 episodes of filler And in fact I'm EXTREMELY EXTREMELY happy Avatar doesn't have a manga, because this way WE don't have to sit through filler.

85 episode's and that was to get ready for Naruto shippuden. Avatar does have fillers it doesnt have as much becuase it had no time to waste because it's such as short show.

So you admit Naruto wastes time.
No it doesn't, DBZ wastes time.
DBZ is allot more interesting then both Naruto and Avatar, so whatchu talkin bout?

You wish. DBZ is a has-been. Besides, Naruto is, in a way, based loosely off of DBZ itself.
Loosely? DBZ alone is the only reason why crappy animes like Naruto are made, not to say DBZ is crappy though, just all these cliche Shounen that they keep coming out with

You don't know what you're talking about.

DBZ had no real story. Just a bunch of people threatening to blow up the earth.
Okay, and Naruto has a bunch of 12 year old ninjas, dressed in bright colors, preaching about the Will of Fire fighting with gardening knives? Come on, Naruto sucks. Fake kid ninjas, fighting crappy liche villains in a Candyland type of world

    Congratulations, Im an S-class retard.

You better go to Iraq or Burma and witness what you refer to as Candyland.

Right, what's so unique about Naruto's villains?

Well they have a cool design and nice plan and plot. Plus they have their own charctersitics and own special attacks nothing you guys would know since this show marely has any attacks besides's the element bending.

If you're going to say that "the only attacks in Avatar are bending" (which they're not, swordsguys have kicked serious bendeer ***) then I can say "the only attacls in Naruto are jutsu". Bending is extremely versatile and not only used for fighting. Just because there's only four materials to use (five I guess, what with Toph's metalbending) doesn't mean there's not tactics and special techniques and stuff.

Also, Avatar characters can come up with something new if they're good enough with the basic understanding and technique. It's not memorizing moves and then perfecting them, it's perfecting the bending as a whole and utilizing the full versatility of their powers.

If you watch the fights you'll see that there are numerous fighting styles and a lot of versatility in Avatar.

Toph is a prime example. Sandbenders use a whole different set of techniques for different purposes, and there's plantbending, metalbending, lightningbending, bloodbending, and tons of fighting styles for each.

And? It makes benders balanced on every field, and also make sit so sword and weapon users like Jet and Mai can add more variety to the show (utlizing weapons to counter bending).

I notice different fighting styles all the time.

Suki, Mai, Ty Lee, Azula, Ozai, Aang, Toph, Jet, Zuko, and to some extent Katara regularly use abilities or moves that only they can perform (blue fire, lightning, extreme speed or skill with a particular weapon or armor).
