I think here healing skills are more for physical injuries. Also, wasn't Toph born blind? I think it it's something you are born with it can't be healed. (hey, I think I might be first)

There's a fanfic that is about this. Can't remember the name of it. They go up to the Northern Water Tribe to have them try to fix Toph's blindness. Works so far with some reasonable complications.

But, Toph would have to be willing to accept that the blindness is a problem or something is worth it. If they did bring up a cure, then I'd expect a seen where Toph fails everyone only because she couldn't see it.

Don't think she can. Waterbenders can't magically heal anything. They couldn't heal Yue (born w/ problem) and Zuko said his scar couldn't be healed (we don't know what would have happened w/ the Spirit Water). Toph kinda has a double whammy. I think what can cause blindness is scar tissue in the eyes. (Not sure if this can happen at birth or not.) So Toph could have been born with the scar tissue resulting in her blindness. I'd say that would kinda make her unhealable.

Also, comment about the Spirit Water. I think it cured Aang because his Spirit connection was injured. Like in the online comic, he had to reconnect with his past lives. I don't know that being Spirit Water means it can heal anything. I'm sure the Northern Healers tried it on Yue and it didn't work. Idk. Just a thought.

Because the religious fanatical bustards who oppose the show because of it's already 'blasphemous' content would have a fit about someone immitating a miracle performed by Jesus.

Lets assume Toph was real. Hear blindness looks like complete calcification of vitreous humor, not exactly a common way to go blind but what ever, anyways sense she was blind from birth even if we were to shove new eyeballs into her sockets (and assume the neurons would reconnect and no immunorejection) she still would not be able to see because her brain having finalized all its IO wiring by the age of two has her occipital lobe and visual cortex all wired now to do other things: even if she were given functional eyeballs her brain would not be able to interpret the data. Oh and this is a repost.

Because she can't.

I imagined an ending a while ago of Katara healing Toph by telling her to jump in the Spirit Oasis Water.

Toph was born blind, so it;s not temporary. The things Katara can heal must be temporary I think, and blindness has nothing to do with Chi, and she's always talking about "OMG!! TWISTED ENERGIE!!" I don;t think she can cure her.
