Why doesn't Katara heal Toph's blindness?(Poll included)

So, why do you think Katara just doesn't heal Toph's blindness?

If I was good at RPG maker, I would so make a Avatar Dating Sim. Then have it mass produced in China.

Eh, it wouldn't really be an RPG. And you'd have to sell it in Japan, or else the government would abduct you.

...well, I'm gonna give an answer worthy of this thread.

Katara can't heal blindness, so that's why.

I think everyone cleared up this dilemma. In a nutshell: Impossible. Besides, Toph just wouldn't be herself without her blind eyes. Her handicap resulted in her hardcore attitude and, if she were able to see, she probably wouldn't take the time to appreciate the feel of the earth on her feet and hands- therefore, not abling to metalbend. I don't think Katara would want that side of Toph to go away, despite any tensions they had. It wouldn't be the same, and she'd just be a normal female earthbender.

Besides, the spirit water can't cure everything. We all wonder of the spirit water would have fixed Zuko's little blemish- it wouldn't have. If you remember when Katara healed Aang at the exact spot where he was struck with lightning, you can see the mark didn't disappear. In fact, it became a scar in the future.

Even if Katara could heal her blindness, I doubt Toph would let her because she might lose her ability to "see" through the ground

hmm, well I was going to say she can't fix things that intense, but remember when she got that special water from that dude (spirit of owasis water or something I dont know I can't spell) If it could bring a guy back to life, couldn't it have healed Toph's blindness. I mean she was ready to use it on Zuko, why not on Toph.

But to counter what I just said, I don't really believe Toph would decide to be healed. It has made her who she is. Toph is a very strong, tough chick and she knows that and in part it is because she's blind and has had to deal with different things. NOt that being blind defines her, but like Zuko said: 'not being born that way, having to struggle to be good has made him who he is. I don't know, just a thought.

    Once again good point

Because Katara can't really heal! Her healing water is just a placebo effect!

no, but it resurrected him. and probably stopped the mass bleeding that happened but was screened out. and it's not a scar. it just hasn't fully healed yet. it gets smaller every few episodes

    i think

Hmm, good point. Nice shipping fodder there too. Just sayin. Anyway, back on topic, this mean that only injuries that happen in time can be healed, and depending on the severity, possibly not completely.

Hmm.... if the spirits can bring life to a person (Yue, for example) then I'm sure they can heal something as simple as blindness. Even if the brain rejects the vision, I still think the spirits can do something. :p They are the spirits. xP

It would have RPG elements, of raising stats by doing repetitive things.

Anyway, I would have the game mass produced in China since they generally don't care as long as you pay the workers some wage. But true, I would have to sell it in Japan to make some sort of profit. But I am sure there would be quite the market in the US, but I would get sued over that, so marketing in East Asia would have to do.

Then again I am sure China would be willing to look the other way since their piracy laws are really lax.

    How about a Chintendo Vii?
