Yeah, you know, I wouldn't be surprised if it DID turn out to be Zuko, and possibly Iroh also, now that I think about it... Out of ALL the characters in Avatar, I think it'd be pretty safe to say that Zuko is the one who changed the most, and not only changed, but changed the most DRAMATICALLY. At the beginning of Season 1, he was a rash, hot-tempered, spoiled young prince who was willing to do pretty much anything to capture the Avatar and regain his honor in the eyes of his father. And then, life as a common villager, and then later a refugee, changed him...opened his eyes to the ways of the world as he'd never seen before. By the time the episode 'Zuko Alone' rolled around, we see him bonding with a local village boy, and helping the family to repair their roof, and being a mentor to the little boy, and defending/trying to protect the boy from authorities. Zuko is rapidly gaining an ever-growing sense of right-and-wrong, with each passing episode. He is definitely NOT the person he once was. I think that point was made painfully and bluntly obvious in the show. Combined with the fact that he _might_ just get fed up with the frustration of "never being good enough for Dad", no matter what he does, and that Azula's always going to be one-step ahead of him, etc, Zuko MIGHT just switch sides on everybody, and team UP with Aang AGAINST his own Fire Nation in the end.... And he could be the one to teach Aang Firebending. It's not that inconceivable. In fact, it makes perfect sense. It's been done before, with awesome results: Pietro Maximoff (Quicksilver) betraying his father Magneto and the rest of the Brotherhood, to join up with the Xmen; Jinx switching sides from bad to good in the Teen Titans TV series, etc. Zuko is about at the half-way mark right now, between the 'good' side and the 'bad' side. He's got MUCH more of a conscience now, than he had back in much of Season 1. I think it'd be really cool if it really DID turn out to be Zuko who was Aang's Firebending instructor, ^_^;; Also, on the topic of 'who will teach Aang firebending'... no, I haven't forgotten about Jeong-Jeong... Yes, he did teach Aang some firebending, (enough that Aang was soon gleefully tossing around fireballs...). But I don't really consider him "THE INSTRUCTOR" who was meant to teach Aang firebending... Jeong-Jeong was barely in half an episode, and the last we saw him, he'd vanished into thin air (a.k.a. the woods?) |

I'm torn between Jeong Jeong coming back and teaching Aang, or Iroh. Zuko is still learning firebending himself, and he was trained by Iroh. And however much Zuko changed, he doesn't seem like the teacher type. |

Jeong Jeong the deserter guy. Why, well why else did they ever introduced that character only to know that Zhao can't control himself??? or so we know that katara can heal peeps... don't think there just has to be more too it... A possible story twist might be: jeong jeong (deserter guy for short) Meets aang and the gang (haven't got a clue how they are going to meet haven't thought that one out.) and starts training aang, then duo to a strange twist af fate fire lord ozai appears, to save aang and his gang the deserter guy fights the fire lord... When aang and the gang rid themselfs of ozai's "henchmen" they/aang want(s) to see what has become of the deserter guy. They get to a place of wich they can safely watch the fight, after a long and ferocious fight the deserter guy dies.... (to shorten the post a bit) Now the part in wich aang meets his new firebending teacher (to get back to the point). When aang and the gang are back (at some place don't know what yet) they come across iroh and zuko. Zuko ofcourse tries to capture aang but aang has had enough of fighting meaningless battles and tells the tail of the deserter (how he dies etc), then iroh steps in and says now it's enough, my brother has gone too far he has to go down and i'll teach you how to do so aang by learning you how to fireband.... (the end is still bit open cuz iroh could also be zuko but my personal favorite for the part is iroh). just my thoughts about it... oh yea about iroh's possible death... it might be that he dies somewhere in the first few episodes of the 3rd season but i also think a possible twist may be that the directors of the show let him have an accident wich changes his voice (possible accidents may be 1: an wound caused by someone who tries to kill him and zuko. 2: my personal favorite, He drinks some sort of plants and the affect is ofcourse that his voice changes. those are my ideas about possible plot twists. PS: please don't pay to much attention to some grammar mistakes etc. cuz english aint really my native language so mistakes are easy to make. |
POSSIBLE SPOILER
i originally thought that it would be iroh but iv heard that zuko joins forces with the gang to defeat a bounty hunter named Jun so maybe that will be how zuko will end up teaching angg

Who knows. The creators might just create a whole new character that hasn't been introduced yet to teach him firebending. It would be awesome though if Zuko was the one to teach him. Kinda like taking revenge on his family since they never really cared about him, except for his mother and obviously Iroh. Or maybe he'll turn good later on, which is highly likely. |

LOL now i'm picturing Iroh as a green guy with big hairy ears . |
I think it's going to be either??Uncle Iroh or Prince Zuko that teach him fire bending
I hope it's Uncle Iroh though...Iroh is my second favorite character!! =D
In the blue spirit episode, that's when I started thinking that Zuko or Iroh was going to teach Aang firebending...please don't let Iroh die!! He's so funny!! I want an Uncle like Iroh!!
Has anyone thought of this yet?.......
Perhaps Zuko and Azula get into a fire duel and they both get hurt. ??When Zuko's about to fall off a cliff to his doom, Azula finally realizes how he's treated him all these years and rushes over to rescue him.?? They both conclude that Ozai???s using them as puppets to get what he wants.?? One flashback has them learn a shocking connection about his heir to the throne and Ursa???s mysterious departure.?? Azula agrees to find and help Aang learn firebending.?? Zuko, however, goes on his own path to be alone again. ??Unfortunately, he???s soon haunted by memories and attacked by ghostly illusions of Zhao, his former rival.??

I'ld love to see Iroh and Zuko teach Aang. While a new character could be introduced in the time they have left (I assume that there is going to be the books of Fire and Air as seasons 3 and 4), Zuko will almost certainly join the team within that time. Why though will probably be as result of a huge emotional turmoil as Zuko finally realises his father for the true monster he is. Plus he's going to defeat his father and Azula in the final battle. |
