would Azula recruit her "friends" to be her...subordinates? Ty-Li would probably run away(i seem to find the Dark chi clashing with her pink and sunny outlook)??first but i can see Mai liking that kinda power...she is pretty much as Goth as it gets on this show...

I would find it unlikely. They are loyal to the Fire Nation, and I would think the realization that they (the Fire Nation) had been manipulated by, from their persepective, an evil Spirit, and that someone they traveled with out of fear(Ty-Lee) or boredom (Mai) has willingly become one with that Spirit for her own benefit (Azula), and that only wholesale destruction of all nations is to be gained from this union, I think they will likely end up joining one of the good guy camps. I think that sometime in the next 2 seasons, maybe at Ba Sing Se, Zuko and Iroh will decide that for the good of the Fire Nation, Ozai needs to go down, and that the best way to do that is to help the Avatar, and so join Aang's group. After Ozai is inevitiably defeated, Dark Avatar Azula is born shortly thereafter, resulting in Ty-Lee and Mai leaving Azula to aid Zuko and Iroh (if Iroh is still around at that point) in redeeming the Fire Nation and trying to unite the Nations against the threat of the Dark Avatar.

this also reinforces Iroh's belief that one needs to take knowledge from many sources, which may end up being an underlying theme of the series.

Just had another thought. What if the Secret Society is dedicated to preventing the return of the Dark Avatar. Iroh, being a Grandmaster, must know of the DA's existence if this is true. Perhaps he was your conquering Fire Nation officer until he lost his son, and through whatever journey he took, ended up rising through the ranks of the Society, gained the ability to see spirits, and has been trying to prepare Zuko for the dark times ahead and not to be consumed by them, like Ozai has.

If you think about it, when the Dark Avatar possesses Azula and shadowbending becomes her dominant ability, Katara, Sokka, and Toph will become obsolete. As they only??know one form of bending (and for Sokka,??only physical attacks) and even Aang, with all four forms of bending, needs to learn another form of bending (light) then they can't really do anything to help him anymore. There also seems to be a theme in the group, if you think about it: Aang knows airbending, Katara knows waterbending, Toph knows earthbending, and Sokka is the physical attacker. Who, if anyone, do you think will be the group's firebender? Zuko?

Also, Iroh's journey into the Spirit World could have given him the knowledge of lightbending and even the knowledge of the Dark Avatar. Obviously, he now has a deep appreciation for the spirits and may end up traveling with Aang to the Spirit World the teach him lightbending. Possibly, lightbending can only be used by the Avatar in the real world, but in the Spirit World, anyone who knows how can use it. And since Iroh is the only other person??(that we know of) that has ever been to the Spirit World...

Hey guys, just in case anyone forgot, I'm still making that flash movie of the first fight between the D.A. and Aang. Also, there are a few liberties I took to make it a more powerful scene, so now it's become more based off the theory than in total synchronization. I apologize to anyone who won't like it, but the ideas change so many times that I can't keep the fight in total sync, so I'm just keeping it the way it is.
