This is good and all, and I think that this is one of the best ideas I have ever heard of, but this isn't going to take off by itself, if you know what I mean. You should send you idea to Nickelodeon and see what they think. It would be great if this was put on TV and I'm sure Nick would be willing to create more seasons (you know, to get more money).

I googled Nickelodeon Animation Studios and got a phone number, which I'm going to call this afternoon and see how far I can get as far as getting information on where to go to submit episode ideas.

Not to burst your bubble, but what about the Religious (Republican) Right? Nick says anything about possesion, and a bunch of Pat clones are gonna have a hissy fit! Why do you think they've never shown The Exorcist, even on HBO?

If that's true why hasen't Stargate SG-1 been cancelled, the Goa'uld symbiotes, though it's organic rather than spiritual, have taken human hosts for a long time, over ten seasons. And couldn't it be argued that Aang has been possessed by his Avatar Spirit, albeit a benevolent one?

exactly, Eman. On another topic, I called Nickelodeon Animation Studios and the receptionist I talked to said they do not accept fan based writing under any circumstances, all work must come an agent or attourney. That sucks.

When does this, Dark Avatar Theory take place?
Well, technically, it would have started long before Sozen's Comet was tapped 100 years ago. But, directly, the Dark Avatar doesn't make it's appearance until the Season 3 Finale. After that, it's formally introduced sometime in Season 4, as "Dark Avatar" Azula.

Except Nick made Butch Hartman call it overshadowing... oh well at least it still sounded cool... but DP doesn't have much to do with this anywho.l

Then maybe you should get an agent. This work seems good enough to attract attention and Nick would probably be very accepting. Agents are free, you just have to find one and show them your work. They only ask that you give them a certain percent of the profit you obtain. However, I think that this is a small price to pay, but this is only if you, Gantros, want to actually go to such lengths.

You seem to be very intelligent..i applaud on your intellect, your dark avatar theory seems to be based on the philosphy of Yin-Yang. However, i always thought that the Yang in the world or avatar was the chaos the firenation has brought upon the other four nations. Thus, the Yin, Avatar, was brought in the world in order to balance the Yang. Unless this is just a fan-fiction your righting about. Inform me.
It wasn't originally, I had made observations in the first season that suggested that someone else was pulling the strings behind Ozai. Assuming that Ozai would remain the main villain through season 3, and that Ozai would be defeated at the end of Season 3, or Book of Fire. Nickelodeon won't let the series die if it maintains it current popularity, they'll order more seasons. How do you top Firelord Ozai with Aang having mastered all the elements? This is where I started making things up for 3 additional seasons. The trick is tying the new, theoretical story arc with the existing one that is official. Here's the "facts":

Sozen's Comet, if viewed in an abstract way, is made up of the four elements. Water and Earth could make up the core of the comet, while Fire and Air could be argued as making up the head and tail, the Air sustaining the Fire. With that in mind, it could be argued that the Comet is the greater threat than Ozai, but Ozai must be defeated so that the Comet can't be tapped again. I figured "WHAT IF?" the Comet was actually a prison for something far worse than anything the Fire Nation was capable of? Something that could, at least initially, outmatch Aang after he defeats Ozai? Why a "Dark" Avatar, with the bonus of a new form of bending based on Yin and Yang, Shadow and Light.

Having the Dark Avatar as a potential new villain is perfect for Avatar, because if Season three is where the series ends, the DA remains sealed in the Comet, The End. If it goes beyond season 3, the DA could end up being freed, opening up a new story arc.

As for making it a Dark Avatar Spirit. Do you really think anyone sealed in a comet for thousands of years is really going to be alive when it's freed? No, I think that all that would be left is a Dark Spirit looking for a new home, being severed from the Avatar Cycle. I don't refer the Dark Avatar Spirit as "evil", per se, keeping in mind Yin and Yang. The Dark Avatar Spirit is simply the embodiment of the worst in humanity, and enables those with evil intent to fulfill their desires. It's not malevolent, it simply is. Bonding with Azula, who would use it's power for evil ends, would however make it guilty by association.

As for Shadow and Lightbending, it would add a new dynamic by giving the Nations something that they don't know how to deal with and on the surface, outclasses their own elemental skills. This would encourage the Nations to join together and the balance against shadowbending. Aang would have to learn a new bending skill, which I think is important to the series as a whole, the journey for knowledge and wisdom. By having the quest for lightbending take the better part of 2 seasons, it allows Aang and company to grow up physically. This would have the pleasant effect of accounting for Zach Tyler going into real life adolescence. I in fact had a humorous way to introduce this. Aang would learn lightbending in the Spirit World, after going on a quest in the Mortal World to collect fragments of the ethereal text that would teach him Lightbending. After mastering it, he would return to his body to find that he has aged a few years. Basically he would have completely missed those oh so wonderful changes and have no clue how to deal with them. Kind of an extreme version of the awkwardness most new teenagers feel. It would also give more resonance to the various relationships that have been kicked around.

I have named the theoretical Seasons 4-6, Books of Shadow, Light, and Balance, respectively.

Also, I forgot to add, Yin is the dark, and Yang is the light. This also supports my theory somewhat because Aang sounds like Yang.

Also, I don't think that Nickelodeon would want Aang to "skip" his initial puberty years when he was in the Spirit World,??as this would lead to some sexual references and some other items that would be hard to explain to the younger viewers. We have to remember that this is supposed to be a kids' show, and while it's fine that there are teens watching, it has to stay a kids' show.

I believe that Gantros is trying just a bit too hard to make his ideas happen. Do you really have zero faith that the creators can do something better? This is getting to be as desperate as the "bring back Invader Zim" boards.

Assuming that Ozai is going to be defeated at the end of season 3 AND Nick orders more seasons, what else can stand up to Aang at that point? I see only a few options:

1.) The Fire Nation commanders set themselves up as "warlords" and claim the territory they held in the other Nations as their own territory. This is basically the same as the first twenty years of the Expanded Star Wars Universe.

2.) Aang ends up protecting the Fire Nation from the vengeful Nations.

3.) Azula takes over from Ozai and continues the war.

There are other possibilities, but they are either more of the same or weaker scenarios than the current one. The Dark Avatar Theory is sound story arc because it:

1.) Reveals more of the history of the Avatar
2.) Introduces new and plausible forms of bending
3.) Teaches good values and presents situations that can be identified with, though that may be over the heads of the younger viewers.

I watched a show called "Disney's Gargoyles". Back in '94, all I saw was the "monsters who are good guys". When I rediscovered the series a couple years ago, I saw the other things I didn't notice before. Relationships, mythology, how actions from earlier episodes affect future ones, relevant lessons (In an episode called "Deadly Force", the main human protagonist, Elisa Maza, was accidentally shot by gargoyle Broadway with her own gun, the relevance was gun safety).

There doesn't need to be sexual references, just comical awkwardness, like Aang finding his voice has deepened and he's too big for his clothes, and maybe some "whoa, you guys look different" double takes, and leaving it at that. The true purpose of having the skip is to account for Aang's voice actor (Zachary Tyler) maturing in real life. Other reasons are to allow the rest of the group interact and develop without Aang being the focus, such as them working together to prevent the other Nations from retaliating against the defeated Fire Nation, or dealing with the shadowbenders and developing their own strategies to fight against them.

??I was watching the season 1 finale about the ocean and moon spirits and it got me thinking. What about the other spirits? Could there be a fire spirit? Could the DA have tainted the fire spirit enough to start the war? Something motivated Zhao to kill the moon spirit...and perhaps the fire spirit(working under the DA's influence) gave Zhao the rush of rage to kill it. Cuz I also noticed how shocked Zhao looked after doing it...but perhaps that wasn't shock but rather fear of what Iroh or Ang would do to him...but anyway just tossing my idea out n seeing how it goes over...

Not really Zhao lacked self control and yes he feared what Iroh and Aang would do to him.
