Great story, great execution, great lines, great humor, great fight, great innuendo, great episode.

It was beautiful, wasn't it? By far much better than DOBS, in my opinion. That was a little bit of a let down. Too much fighting. Even when fighting occured in this episode, there were other things that provoked the fighting that were to be evaluated. In DOBS it was just "Get to the Fire Lord". In this episode there's more of a deeper meaning.
Yeah get to the guy that killed katara and sokka's mother

I remember The Avatar and the Firelord being kept secret due to how dark the episode was supposed to be. I found this to be a lot darker. It answered a lot, like why Katara aeemed to be slightly distant with Hakoda. Or that might be me. But I could see her also blaming him for not getting back to Kya fast enough.

Plus the funny moments. It was really balanced I think.

This episode was quite dark. "Quite" doesn't do it justice. More like "insanely". Zuko and Katara partnered up to hunt someone down. *Shudders* Jesus. They're both very scary when they're angry. Maybe not as scary as Aang =p But they are very scary.

He's less angry and he has a new purpose, but someone who changed as much as we all claimed he did wouldn't want to kill someone that they didn't even know. You know what I mean? I think, when it comes down to it, Zuko wants to help the Avatar, but he himself hasn't changed...

Idk, i don't think as it should be looked at as him not having a problem with killing a person he doesn't know. I think he was so fired up for this little 'hunt' not only because he was trying to make amends to Kataara but more importantly(maybe) because he himself had his mother taking away from him at a very young age(and yes i'm counting her being forced into exile by the fire lord and his actions as being 'taken away'. Also, lets not forget that he didn't chastize Kataara when she let the guy lived, in the end he admitted to Aang that it was the right thing to do.

Yes because they wanted to scare the killer before they were "planned" to kill him.

No, I mean in the beginning, when Azula attacked. There was no real reason to attack except for the fact that she wanted to kill Zuko. But where did that even come from? Obviously he's a traitor, but she could've tried to kill him more thoroughly in TBR. It was very unplanned, not like Azula. She always has a purpose. This was more spontaneous and empty.

    Woo hoo first post!

Anyways I believed it was a terrific episode. It did seem a little short.

Did anyone notice how aggressive and different Azula's Firebending was? If you noticed she used her fists to generate fire blasts as opposed to her using her fingers in previous episodes. Shes starting to go crazy. I believe that Zuko held his ground fairly well however.

Omg I LOVED Katara's amount of control over the water when she ambushed that man. Making every raindrop around her stop and to control them must've took a great deal of concentration. This episode really showed off Katara's potential as a Waterbender.

Also, Idk if anyone else is annoyed about this but... What is happening with Toph?! They havent shown much development in her character or her bending. Its like the creators dont even care about her anymore... Anyways those are some of my thoughts.

However she did have a fleet of blimps. She planned to hunt the whole group down. Zuko was the only one looking to get into that fight. I'm sure they planned to look for them after they fled after the DOBS

The only thing I didn't get was Azula attacking. How did she find them? They left her without an airship and I would think they would realize that they were being followed.

Though I did notice she seemed to be starting her descent into madness.

Don't know if anyone mentioned this yet, but Kya was Katara's original name in the pilot episode. Nice callback.

He was sad. That's going to play a huge part later on, I think. The fact that he felt bad for hurting part of his family might also apply to his father. I doubt it, but I'm sure that something later will happen and he saves Azula. I think that either Azula will realize what love is *gag* or friendship or whatever, or she'll refuse his help and basically commit suicide because she'd much rather die than accept his help.

I noticed that also. Good catch. Epic episode. This was the reason I loved this show to begin with. Great spiral back. If they could only do that for say.....the great divide and somehow redeem that episode the series will be perfect.

Azula is smart. Airbender and airtemple go hand in hand. They would go the nearest safe haven. That would be an obvious place to look.

YES! DESCENT INTO HER MADNESS! INSANITY TIME! I've been waiting for this for such a long time. I'm sure she could've followed him or something. Actually, I've got no idea. But, the point is, she battled without reason and that symbolizes the beginning of the end of her sanity =D

That's how I figured. But she always seems so sure of herself. I guess she was trying to let them get to thinking they were safe there. Then pop up.
