Azula? Yes I think he would care. He seems to adore his daughter. In ways only a crazy dictator can.

I think he would. He always favored Azula, I think. Plus, Ozai isn't an idiot. Why threaten his own life? It's safer for him to stay as inconspicuous as possible. I'm sure he's waiting until Sozen's Comet to even think about doing anything to the Avatar. After all, it's so close. Why not wait a few days?

Maybe someone could help me out here, but happened to the rest of the group? They were told to hop on the extra air ship, correct? But didn't Zuko get on it? Or did Zuko just hop on one of Azula's?

I'm kind of confused by your question, but here's what happened. Azula started attacking which obviously took everyone by surprise. They shielded themselves and Toph immediately started digging a tunnel to travel through. Appa refused to go into it, so the more important members of the gAang (Toph, Sokka, Suki, Katara, Aang, and Zuko) decided to take Appa and fly out. The rest of the gAang used the tunnel to escape. Zuko tried to distract Azula and after a huge impact during one of their fights, he fell off the air balloon and the gAang caught him on Appa. So, now the gAang is split in two.

To answer his question: the rest of the gaang(least important members) took the airship that Zuko and Sokka stole from azula at the end of The Boiling Rock. Zuko jumped onto Azula's new airship where they proceeded to fight. ^^

I don't think he'd be too happy to know his pride and joy, his prodigy, nearly plunged to her death.

I don't think adore is the right word. I just think he trusts her more than he does Zuko. She is more ruthless, like Ozai. There has never really been any proof that he actually likes Azula, but it's pretty obvious that he enjoys her company more than Zukos.

I think Ozai is more wise than that. He knows Zuko will come back for him. I also don't think he really wants his son dead. I don't think he cares enough. If anything, he would've sent Azula to kill the Avatar instead of just Zuko. The Avatar is their priority, not some stupid traitor. So, I don't think Ozai had a hand in this. It was all Azula.

He doesn't want his son dead?!? He friggin' shot lightning at him! And just before that he said his penalty would be far steeper than banishment. Only thing worse is imprisonment or death. And lightning to the face doesn't do much imprisoning.

And who said they were JUST there for Zuko? All Azula said was that she was going to celebrate being an only child. Seems like an added bonus for Crazula.

    Let's see, where to start.

    1. I thought the beginning was a dream until it cut away from Zuko to the others in the tunnel.

    2. Dear god Azula, without her friends she's gone completely insane! I knew from the clips of her in the preview commercials something was off with her but this is just amazing!

    3. Zutara and Sukka? Whyyyyy writers, why!? While I did love the amazingly awkward moment...Suki doesn't love Sokka! T_T She's just confused, Katara is the one she really wants! And Tokka is open for business!

Speaking realistically that looks nigh impossible now. Not enough time and too much Sukka. *sigh* Next episode looks like Kataang, however it seems more like the Kate/Jack kind of romance from LOST rather than something enjoyable.

    4. Ninja Katara. Auto 5 stars.

    5. Bloodbending returns! Boost to 6/5 stars.

    6. Not having to do with this episode, but the preview for Sozin's Comet--Avatar has officially un-become a kids show, as soon as Aang says "Looks like I'm going to have to kill the Fire Lord." Amazing. So glad they didn't dumb it down for the children.

I think it's because he thinks she's stronger and won't hold back at all like Zuko would. Zuko was good, but confused.

She wouldn't have wasted her time with Zuko. She also wouldn't have admitted she was there to kill Zuko if she wasn't. Zuko doesn't really lie, per say. She just avoids the truth. Plus, Zuko can be exterminated anytime. Ozai only tried to kill Zuko because he was right there. Aang is much more important than Zuko. With Aang so close, I'm sure he would've been the prime target instead of Zuko. Ozai isn't an idiot. He knows Aang is a threat.

    Thoughts on the episode:

    - Incredible fight sequence between Azula and Zuko

    - Azula should keep her hair like that

    - Good bonding episode between Zuko and Katara (no, I'm not a Zutarian)

    - Great animation during the final segment

    - I see a smashed mirror w/blue flames scene in Azula's future

And a new episode tomorrow!! Funny one too!!

I might be wrong but it seemed hinted that he cared about her due to her natural skill. Zuko said something like "He said she was born lucky. He said I was lucky to be born." So either Zuko was a preemie or he saw something in Azula from the start that wasn't there with Zuko. The craziness inherited from Sozin perhaps?

I've been waiting for the glorious day of Avatar's world wide realization. Why has it even taken this long? Avatar is not in any way a kids show and never will be. It's about serious subjects. Maybe once in an episode something silly will happen, like Sokka's love scene =p. But, things like that also have a deeper purpose. There's nothing "kiddy" about this show. Why it's aired on Nick, I have never understood. And it truly was amazing when he said he would kill the Fire Lord. Jesus, this is so epic!

I think Ozai was referring to the fact that Azula showed exceptional skill. She has mastered using lightening, even something Zuko hasn't. It was nothing personal on any level.

It won't. EIP will be a joke, in my opinion. It's a waste of precious 24:00 of more Avatar. Some people think it will be comic relief before the finale. I think that's a good idea, in theory. No, not even in theory. It's just not a good idea.
