YES! DESCENT INTO HER MADNESS! INSANITY TIME! I've been waiting for this for such a long time. I'm sure she could've followed him or something. Actually, I've got no idea. But, the point is, she battled without reason and that symbolizes the beginning of the end of her sanity =D

To me she sounded and looked slightly mad when she said she was going to celebrate becoming an only child.

Simple logic: They headed in a specific direction, only takes one look at a map to figure out that the Western Air Temple is in the same direction. And where else would an Air Nomad Avatar head to?

"Send the airships and blow them like crazy!"

    To answer your question:

Dude, I've been think this one simple fact ever since they holed up at the WAT: "ummm...do you not think anyone is going to think to look there?!?" I meant its one of the last places possible for them to find refuge and the fire nation had to noe it. I mean, how could they NOT think to look for the airbender at the abandoned air temple.

So, the only lingering question is, "How could the gAang be so careless?" :\

Azula is smart. Airbender and airtemple go hand in hand. They would go the nearest safe haven. That would be an obvious place to look.

That's how I figured. But she always seems so sure of herself. I guess she was trying to let them get to thinking they were safe there. Then pop up.

Well she did have the element of surprise.

But that's the thing. She used to be sure of herself. Now her two companions betrayed her. She was shocked. Azula isn't sure of herself anymore. Now she's beginning to act irrational and insane!!! YAY!

I think she has always been insane. It has just gotten out of control more frequently.

It was beautiful, wasn't it? By far much better than DOBS, in my opinion. That was a little bit of a let down. Too much fighting. Even when fighting occured in this episode, there were other things that provoked the fighting that were to be evaluated. In DOBS it was just "Get to the Fire Lord". In this episode there's more of a deeper meaning.
Yeah get to the guy that killed katara and sokka's mother

No, I mean in the beginning, when Azula attacked. There was no real reason to attack except for the fact that she wanted to kill Zuko. But where did that even come from? Obviously he's a traitor, but she could've tried to kill him more thoroughly in TBR. It was very unplanned, not like Azula. She always has a purpose. This was more spontaneous and empty.

she is obviously jealous of him. not only did her mother love him more but her friends chose him over her also. so i dont see how her attacking was such a big shock.

Maybe someone could help me out here, but happened to the rest of the group? They were told to hop on the extra air ship, correct? But didn't Zuko get on it? Or did Zuko just hop on one of Azula's?

I admit I wanted to see the huge Pai Sho table. And I will miss the badger-frogs.

It was a shock because usually Azula is very in check of her emotions. Even during the Beach, she didn't admit nearly as much as everyone else did. Azula never acted so irrational before. Everytime we've seen her, she's had an underlying reason. This wasn't even about capturing the Avatar, it was just some stupid, childish revenge! She never would've let that drive her a couple episodes ago. Mai and Ty Lee's betrayal hurt her more than she lets on.

You know, maybe Ozai sent Azula after them. I mean Zuko did kind of hurt his pride turning his sudden lightning attack right back at him.

    You know, just a guess...

I'm kind of confused by your question, but here's what happened. Azula started attacking which obviously took everyone by surprise. They shielded themselves and Toph immediately started digging a tunnel to travel through. Appa refused to go into it, so the more important members of the gAang (Toph, Sokka, Suki, Katara, Aang, and Zuko) decided to take Appa and fly out. The rest of the gAang used the tunnel to escape. Zuko tried to distract Azula and after a huge impact during one of their fights, he fell off the air balloon and the gAang caught him on Appa. So, now the gAang is split in two.

I think Ozai is more wise than that. He knows Zuko will come back for him. I also don't think he really wants his son dead. I don't think he cares enough. If anything, he would've sent Azula to kill the Avatar instead of just Zuko. The Avatar is their priority, not some stupid traitor. So, I don't think Ozai had a hand in this. It was all Azula.

Why cant Ozai do anything for himself. Lets send his children to do his dirty work. Would he even mind if azula gets killed?

Perhaps. "He wounded my pride! HE MUST DIE!"

Though I think if Ozai sent them, he must have had a talk with the Warden. Between him and Azula, Ozai would know exactly who escaped. And who was there.

zuko fighting her on a blimp. maybe it was just a lucky guess. maybe not.
