Yeah, at the beginning of the episode, I was like huh? Why are they getting attacked 0_0 Wondering what happened to the other group still. There were still FN airships in flight after the gaang left, so wouldn't they have been pursued?

They might have been taken by surprise at one of their ships retreating. If they saw it. It seemed like that was the "back door" to the temple, a way they could get out without being seen.

Though funnily enough I'm sitting there thinking "How are they going to steer this? It involves firebending! Oh wait, Chit Sang. DUH!"

Well, Azula is different. She's lightening. But the white color says a lot about Ozai. THIS IS SO EXCITING!
Azula also does blue fire which is different from lightning. Besides Ozai does lightning to.

They didn't have much of a choice. They already planned this to be a Katara and Zuko centric episode.

Well I dont really mean just this episode... EVERY episode of Book 3!

Well, The Runaway was all about Toph and Katara. That was basically a full episode dedicated to Toph.
Toph is like a second comic relief character, if Sokka isn't nearby. But she's also a strong fighter, which is why I think she'll have more time in battle. Besides, Sokka's Master was Sokka centric, The Beach was Zuko, Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee centric, The Runaway was Toph centric, and The Southern Raiders was Katara centric. Aang is in all of those, but he had most time in Nightmares and Daydreams. Katara was the only main character that didn't have an episode centric to her, and this episode fixed it.
You forgot the Painted Lady which was Katara centric. But it didn't really add anything to her character that we didn't know.

True, true. But it did kind of add to Sokka, showing how much he cared for his sister.

Yeah, but that wasn't absolutely completely Katara centric, even though it was. We didn't even know the Painted Lady was Katara until towards the end. This episode comes right out and gives Katara her well-deserved time to shine.

This episode was absolutely amazing. We got to see a darker side of Katara -- the Katara that's not always calm and cool. We got to see a real inner conflict with all of the characters. We got to see Zuko and Katara finally make up and agree to be friends. And we got to see some extremely hilarious innuendo (seriously, how the heck did Nick let them get away with that?!). Definitely my new favorite episode.

No, Azula does lightening. I think. She used blue fire when she propels herself like in TBR, but she definitely bends lightening. Why else would Zuko learn how to deflect lightening and not fire? You can't deflect fire the way you deflect lightening.

Amen to that! I wish this was another double episode feature. It was so much better than TBR. It deserved the extra time.

Well, she's not one of the most interesting characters. She gets as much attention as she needs. Most of her inner quarrels have been dealt with. People like Aang, Katara, and Zuko still need to be developed. Well, not so much as Aang, but now we have to watch what makes him decide to take on the Fire Lord. Katara and Zuko are quickly becoming almost as important as Aang. Toph has been developed and there's no more need to focus on her.
I have to disagree a bit I didn't like toph that much at first but latley I've seen has as a true master the fact that she's blind only increases her ability cause she is more like the badger moles plus she is just a... "pimp" she's confident but not to cocky and has a good mix of passive aggresivness I ador the lil girl she just has balance and I think a good zukko toph bonding episode would have been a win

I wouldn't mind seeing that, as Zuko has had an episode with Aang, two with Sokka depending on how you see The Boiling Rock, and this one with Katara. But at the same time I can understand her not needing one to bond with him as she already trusted him.

Plus they needed for Zuko and Katara to bond with each other or else during the final battle, the whole group wouldn't be working as a team. And Toph already has no problem with Zuko. And Zuko had already bonded with Aang and Sokka to earn their trust.

Ahahha. It would've, but then I think it would've gotten a little too cliche. There's only enough room for one pair of lovahsss in the gAang. So it'll either be Kataang or Zutara. But I love Toph as well, but I meant interesting as in character development. She's a child who's been trying to break free from her parents. There really isn't much to her after a while. It's all kind of typical.
