I just saw the episode. It wasn't the "tear-jerker" I was told to expect. In fact, it was just disturbing.

    *SPOILERS*

One of the reasons I found it so disturbing was because Katara chose to bloodbend again, something she seemed pretty opposed to at the end of whatever the episode was she learned it in (considering she broke down crying). And she did it out of rage, not just anger.

Also, the main issue of the episode wasn't completely solved. As she said herself, she'll never forgive the man. If she can never forgive him, she'll always carry that rage with her, and she'll never be truly happy and she'll never be able to forgive the rest of the Fire Nation. So even though she no longer connects Zuko with her mother's death, she still connects it to the man and the nation he fought for.

I felt like she didn't kill the man because he wasn't really what she was, dare I say, hoping for. I believe she was looking for a person that was pure evil. In her mind, she was villainizing the man for years, making him out to be more than he actually was, and when she found him, he turned out to be a simple coward. At that point, I easily imagined her saying something to the effect of "You're not even worth killing."

The whole episode just made me feel sorrow for Katara. Her hatred is still there, even if it's not directed toward Zuko anymore, which is a very small consolation.

A couple other things I noticed. Azula's grip on reality is weakening, which was clear from the end of "The Boiling Rock." She's losing her calm, and when she finally loses it, that'll cause her to slip and either perish or be captured.

Second, I know how Aang felt at the end of the episode. Sometimes you know what's right and wrong, but they don't always connect like they should in your mind.

Overall, the whole thing was very telling. I just hope they can wrap it all up in less than two and a half hours. They did it right in season 1 and 2. I can only hope they do it right again.

Yeah, sure, Katara and Zuko bonding was great and all.
    But srlsy guys?
Sokka and Suki were gonna do the nasty.
    on Nickelodeon.

Lol, I was surprised Zuko didn't walk right out of the tent after seeing Sokka in that incredible pose..

    On a different note, I was surprised how the episode was almost sympathetic towards the guy who killed Katara's mother. Adding how horrible his owm mother was to him made it easy to understand why he turned out that way. And the way he was sobbing at the end in the rain with the vegetables he bought for his mother scattered around him really was a sad image ;_;

yeah, I think I might ship George now. And I totally agree. I didn't hate this guy like other villains. He was just as Katara had said; pathetic.

same is true w/metal bending there is none just powerfull earth benders.

speaking of which where is bumi can't wait to see him

I doubt we'll see him. There's really no reason to meet up with him again. I always liked Bumi, but I would much rather have that much more time with Iroh.

He has to come back Aang could of freed him but he said it wasn't the right time

    \
Hm, that's a thought. But I honestly doubt it. There have been no new refrences to Bumi at all. It would be a little out of the blue.
What, do you forget the old commercial? Where Bumi says "Well, look who's here!"?

NO WAY! WHEN?! WHAT COMMERCIAL? PLEASE send it. Ahahaha.
You didn't see that commercial!? *Goes to find link for fellow avatard*

I'm starting to get scared, though. I haven't seen one preview with Iroh in it past this point. I swear, if they didn't include him in the next couple episodes...

He was portrayed as a pathetic old man, and I, personally, didn't find the image sad, but more like revolting.

Yeah, there was a moment after where Katara said she couldn't kill him, and then he smiled. Then Zuko looked at him, and then he immediately looked away and returned to his 'sad' face. And in the present, what he did definately was pathetic, but I could understand why he couldn't understand the concept of family considering how terribly his own mother treated him.

I almost peed myself after seeing that. At first I thought that maybe Sokka's dad would come into the tent but after the first 5 minutes of the movie

    *Spoiler!!!*

when the dad got seperated from the gaang. I automatically thought that it would be Zuko who'd get caught in that awkward situation. P.s. - How do you do that Spoilers link?

Just when I was trusting Bato again, I hear some stuff about a source telling Yun Ra(?) about a Waterbender in the Water Tribe.

    Is he the source?

I would like this. BECAUSE DISCUSSION OVER WHO THE SOURCE IS DOESNT DESERVE ITS OWN THREAD.

I'm sure that his mother's commands and behavior was meant as more of a joke. It could have been on purpose, but the mother was a bit too comical for my liking,

Nice analysis. But it is very hard to forgive someone who murders your mother.

I was hoping that she wouldn't just quickly forgive him by the end of the episode, because that would take away some of the realism I always felt Avatar had (yea even though it's a cartoon about people who can shoot fire).

I still believe one can be happy, while still not forgiving a murderer. Personally I don't see any reason why she should really forgive him, he's done nothing to earn the forgiveness, unlike Zuko who has done so ever since WAT.
