What's the point? We're going to find out who was right in a few days anyway. |
Everyone alreadys knows that kataang won already...it is simply illogical that zutara is going to win from 6 episodes left...(2 left, then 4 finale episodes)....
Or, during the finale, Katara and Zuko will finally quite BSing around and one of them will get hurt, the other will admit their love, and BOOM! The ship has sailed!
And that's when the killings gotta start. ::Cracks knuckles and prepares Firebending:: No, I'm not a Kataang shipper, I'm actually very neutral on the subject honestly and don't care who's with who. But I do like common sense and I'd have to say at this point, it doesns't make any sense for Zutara to happen.
So I'll have to go head hunting if it does, unless they make it very believable. And considering with all the Kataang hints throughout the show (and I'm talking obvious, not you have to look far beyond WTF logic), it would take something major.
And if what happens in the Boiling Rock is true, I'm personally rooting for Mai/Zuko. She's more then shows she deserves the title and would suit him well.

More of my point. She doesn't satirize Zutarians, she's a prick who just makes fun of them.

if we're going to use aunt wu's 'powerful bender' prediction as a valid argument, then consider this: 1. in every single fight between aang and zuko, who has won? 2. who has mastered 2 elements in the space of 2 seasons, and is currently mastering a third? 3. who was still struggling with basic firebending at the beginning of the series? 4. who had mastered airbending at the age of 12? 5. in short, who's a better bender? aang or zuko? i think you'll find that the answer's aang. therefore aang is the powerful bender that aunt wu refers to. it's pretty lame reasoning, but there's plenty more lame reasoning in your posts, believe me. |

Your second argument there, on Aang's being just a powerful bender is flawed. Aang is the Avatar, only he can master all four elements. Zuko cannot. Aang transcends the title of 'bender', because he's more than just any manipulator of the elements - he's the one to save the world. |

Avatar; the Last Airbender.
Unless I missed somthing pretty big, Aang's a bender.

While Chaobunny's Guide to Zutarian logic is certainly not the greatest example of satire (sarcasm would be closer to that mark) that does not render it meaningless, quite the contrary.
If you ignore the frequent zutara bashing (yes, we admit it is just that) you will be treated to most of the scenes that make it fairly clear just why Kataang will happen.
In any case, CGtZL makes a lot more sense than Zutarian Evidence for the Intellectual Dummy.

1. I think it would be necessary since he kissed her. But we can never really resolve this issue until the series ends. The fact is we're not mind-readers, neither of Katara nor of Mike and Brian. 2. I know we don't know what the other Avatar's attachments were. But part of my point is that Avatars can love and still control the AS. Allow me to illustrate my reasoning. Premises: Aang needs to let go of his attachment. Katara is his attachment. Appa is more important to Aang than Katara. Yet Appa is not Aang's attachment. What Katara has over Appa is Aang's romantic love. Conclusion: The "attachment" that blocks the Seventh Chakra is caused by love. New Premises: The "attachment" that blocks the Seventh Chakra is caused by love. Aang loves Katara. Yet Roku states that being the Avatar doesn't hurt your chances with the ladies, and was able to control the AS and have a wife. New Conclusion: The "letting go of attachments" to control the AS is not permanent. Aang can love Katara but still control the Avatar State. 3. I don't know. All I know is that Aunt Wu didn't explicitly say "you have no romance in your future", and that the future is not set in stone. All this stuff is just highlighting why Kataang hasn't come to fruition yet. Can you supply some evidence for Zutara now? (BTW, the Chakras are never described as "Gates"- are you confusing Avatar with Naruto?) |

True, but the point was, not just any bender. There was only mention of a 'very powerful bender' as people continue to quote. Compared to anyone, Aang largely overshadows them in power, just by being the Avatar. You think if Aunt Wu had seen something as definitive as that in Katara's future, she would've said her destiny lay with the Avatar, Aang. No?

My guess is that Aunt Wu simply saw that the man Katara was going to marry would be able to bend (hence "bender"), and that he would be much more powerful than other benders (hence the word "very").
She was reading this information off Katara's palm - it can't have been too specific.
MAJOR ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ZUTARA"S HOPES HAVE BEEN RESTORED!!! (mabye)
I was just watching the Boiling Rock as it aired on TV for the first time, and at the end there was a mini-trailer for the Southern Raiders!
It was fairly Katara-centric, showing many scenes from the ninja mission that she goes on with Zuko. Most of it was exciting explosions and waterbending, as well as a scene of Katara throwing shards of ice at the guy who presumably killed her mother.
The scene that shippers are interested in however, showed Katara, wearing her DoBS clothes, standing on what looked like the edge of a cliff in the rain screaming at Zuko, saying that she had trusted him, and he had betrayed her.
So there's definitely going to be a fairly major Zuko/Katara emotional confrontation tommorow night.
This is, quite frankly, the last throw of the dice for Zutara. Even if they make up and become friends, if there is no movement towards being romantically attached towards eachother, not even the tiniest hint, I think that we can safely presume Zutara ended.
Zutara will stand or fall with the Southern Raiders.
To quote Ozai; "This should be interesting..."
