The fact is, Zutara has already won. So has Kataang.
No, I'm not crazy, and nor do I ship Zutaraang.
Zutara has won for the same reason that Avatar the last airebender has won: despite massive evidence to the contrary, despite the fact that it seemed that it was never going to happen, despite numerous hopeful signs that turned out to be nothing, and despite hordes of people saying that it was rubbish and the people who believed in it were fools, the people who believed in Zutara (and Avatar) refused to give up, refused to throw in the towel, and instead persevered to the end. Anything that can inspire the sort of rabid loyalty that can be observed in Zutara (and Avatar) fans deserves respect, even if there is (let's face it) absolutely no evidence whatsoever that it's any good, or for that matter, was ever going to happen. The fact that the mere idea of Zutara could generate such fan loyalty allows it to stand head and shoulders above all the other ships that were never ever going to happen in a million years.
Naturally, the same goes for Kataang, but we Kataang shippers (yes, I'm one) have had it and will have it a lot easier than the Zutarians.

^Wow. You're so right. I have admitted that though, that you at least have to respect the Zutarian fandom for staying around this long. |
You say there's no evidence for Zuko and Katara, well there's evidence that Katara and Aang won't happen.
I know that this is an old argument, but do you seriously think they'd have all the suspense of the 7th chakura just to say at the end: "Haha, we had our fingers crossed when we said that"?
Ok, maybe anything that's favors Zuko and Katara getting together has been subtle bullet points, but the stuff that says that Katara and Aang won't be together has been bombshells. Do you guys honestly think they'll throw some new way to get into the AS in these last six episodes? You guys better cross your finger during "The Old Masters" because that's going to show that there is no other way and the forgetting is permanent.

And, again, do you guys honestly think that after 2 and a half seasons steeped in Kataang, the all-too-blatant in-your-face Maiko in 305, 309, and The Boiling Rock, that Zutara will happen in 6 episodes? |
Well, considering the scene that this is from:
I'd say yes.
Now, I know that said scene is a bit subtle. You know, with Aang leaning in to kiss Katara and then her pulling away like she's disgusted and trying not to throw up, but if you pay close attention to it, it clearly bombshells the fact that Katara doesn't want to be romantically with Aang.
She is obviously surprised in that picture, but even that could be wrong. Plus, that's a scene from a trailer, not the whole episode. And trailers NEVER let Zutarians down before. It was awesome how the YTV trailer of The Beach showed Zuko and Mai breaking up and they stayed broken up the rest of the season.
Edit: And pick one. Either The Avatar State defense, or that Katara doesn't like Aang. If the Avatar State is such a strong argument that Zutarians make it out to be, it wouldn't matter if Katara doesn't like Aang.

Trailers never let them down? I know what you are trying to say, but what about the one for the first half of season 3 that had Mai and Zuko kissing? I wasn't online at the time, but I imagine that not too many were happy with that.
Pick one? That wouldn't make sense. If Katara is in love with Aang, then Zuko is just going to be her second choice and that's not love. The AS argument is about him realizing that life goes on without her and he needs to stop being in love with her.
Now, your turn to pick. Is shipping evidence between the lines or in your face? If it's between the lines, then maybe the 7th chakura and the trailer clip aren't that good of arguments, however, that makes a lot of other Zuko+Katara evidence good arguments. If it's in your face, a lot of Zuko+Katara evidence isn't any good, but the 7th chakura and the trailer clip are worth gold.

I'll just wait for boiling rock to air to discuss this. I'm about to 'splode.
