Glider Staff- This is a combination of a glider and a staff originally used by the monks of the airbeding temples. The staff is a long, hard wood pole, and is one of the ancient weapons in martial arts. The length of the staff depends on the height of the user. The staff should always be a little taller than the user. This staff is called a "bo staff" in Japan. The staff can increase the user's reach and leverage, but it is referred to as a defensive weapon. The glider appears when the user activates a mechanism somewhere on the staff. When activated, the staff releases a colored glider sail on a rigid frame. The sail allows the user to fly into the??sky by bending the air around them.
Application- The Glider Staff can be used for many different things. These can be divided into three catogories:
Flight- Airbenders can use the Glider Staff for sustained flight, using Airbending. Depending on the skill of the user, passengers can also be taken on the glider. If the staff does not have a glider sail, the user can use the "helicopter method", in which you twirl the staff above you head.
Fighting- The staff can be used to block fire attacks. It can also be used to re-direct air blasts towards the opponent. In close combat, it can be used to block attacks, or to deliver thrusting or sweeping blows.
Utility- The staff can also be used to carry heavy loads, such as food, or clothes. The Glider Staff can be used as a lever or a pry bar too.
