Characters:
Monk, Gyatso: A hundred years ago, Monk Gyatso was a teacher and also a father figure to Aang in the Southern Air Temple. Although he was the Avatar, Gyatso believed Aang should grow up as a normal boy. Monk Gyatso was also a very good baker.??After Aang ran away, the firebenders attacked the temple and murdered Gyatso. However, a statue of Monk Gyatso still stands there.
Personality: Gyatso was a very wise, kind, and caring man. Instead of training, he preferred to play games and have fun. He was good-natured but at times stubborn and stood by what he believed in. Gyatso was also a good advisor.
Description: Gyatso is bald and like Aang, he has tattoos in the same places on his body. He has a white moustache and a long orange and yellow robe. He also wears a necklace of beads and attached to it is a wooden pendant with the airbending sign.
First Episode Appearance: The Southern Air Temple (Flashback, Book 1: Chapter 3)
Powers: Gyatso is a master airbender.
Relationships: Gyatso is a monk at the Southern Air Temple and a mentor, friend, and father figure to Aang.
