Gliders- The Gliders are single person, fixed wing aircrafts designed for un-powered flight. The glider's pilot hangs suspended from the wooden frame, and controls the glider's flight either through hand controlled rudders or by shifting their weight on the frame. Skilled pilots can obtain lift if they are able to find rising air masses.

Application- Gliders were first used by the monks at the Air Temple before their destruction by the Fire??Nation. After that, the Northern Air Temple was reinhabited by the Mechanist and his people, and they started using the gliders again. Without Airbending, the Mechanist hasd to find someway to get lift. He did this by heating the air around the temple, so the pilots could use the air currents to fly. Gliders are also tactical bombers. Gliders can fly in close, and then drop a bomb. The Northern Air Temple now depends solely on the Glider Pilots to protect the temple. This is seen in the Fire Nation attack on the Northern Air Temple. Heavily armed tanks, however, were not affected by bombs.

Eastern Air Temple: The Eastern Air Temple is located on three mountains in the East and usually housed female Airbenders, including Sister Iio. However, this temple was destroyed by the Fire Nation in their invasion. The elders of the Southern Air Temple??actually decided to send Aang to the Eastern Air Temple to complete his training without the distraction of Monk Gyatso. Years before, Aang had??chosen Appa as his Sky Bison in the Eastern Air Temple and this was also where Guru Pathik waited many years for the Avatar so that he could aid him. The Eastern Air Temple is where Guru Pathik met Appa and where Guru Pathik taught Aang about the chakras.

First Episode Appearance: The Southern Air Temple (Mentioned, Book 1: Chapter 3), Appa's Lost Days (Physical Appearance, Book 2: Chapter 16)

Eastern Air Temple-One of the four Air Normad temples. Unlike the Northern and Southern temples, this temple is housed on three mountains. Like the Western temple, the Eastern temple only houses the female monks. The Flying bisons are raised here. The Fire Nation has since destroyed the temple, but Guru Pathik still inhabits the temple to help train Aang.

Misc: This was the home of Sister Lio and was the place where Aang was going to be sent to train as the Avatar, before he ran away.

Other sources: See Western Air temple, Aang, Guru....etc.

I just saw it. It is really weird. Then again, let him have his fun away from our encyclopedia........ It is "our" encyclopedia, right?

Hog Monkey-A creature with the body of a baboon and the head and tusks of a boar. Usually brown with red eyes, it makes a grunting noise that is between a pig squeal and a baboon scream. They can be found in forest areas.
