That was probably one of the biggest surprises that happened in avatar history. Also, wasn't Zuko FROZEN by Katara in the season one finale???Somehow he melted his way out of it, so maybe if Azula was thinking she could have done the same...?
Zuko's was never totally in-cased in ice. First he was inside a containment of ice but he could still move. After that his arms and head were free.

azula could've escaped from the ice had it not been the fact that she couldnt breathe

Yep. And since Zuko could talk when he was in ice, he was breathing. Information thaks to a CPR training video I watched today in Gym that sated "If the person can talk, that means they are breathing and that they are conscious."

Okay, so I just recently finished watching the finale online and some parts did bother me.... like the fact that the finale was exactly like the book which kinda sucks because I was hoping the creators would have thought of something more spectacular and they shouldn't have let that book be published before the actual finale aired anyways. Also, this finale did make earlier episodes of Avatar seem somewhat pointless which is exactly what that reviewer had stated.

And all the gaang's friends who stayed with them in the Western Air Temple were all pointless too. They didn't even get to help out in the final battle. And all of a sudden they just show up in the Fire Nation...

And was Ursa really there or was Azula just imagining her?

And the whole lion turtle... yeah that was just way too convenient. I mean energy bending.... even I think thats just a little too out there for Avatar. And they still didn't explain how Aang's scent just dissapeared.

And with Iroh... he still seemed a little chunky. What happened to all his muscles that he trained day and night for while he was in jail? They needed to show that again and show off his skill.. i mean he busted through his own metal jail and was his own "army". I was really dissapointed that they didn't demonstrate all the power that Iroh truly has. And the fact that they didn't even show a glimpse of his escape like they did with Bumi.

And when Zuko went to see his father in jail, he asks where his mother was but then the next scene later he's passing out tea. I mean what did he say... "okay thanks for telling me where my mother is but instead of looking for her i'm just gonna go and celebrate with the people i've been chasing for a year but somehow managed to bond with within a week." If Ozai even did tell him where Ursa is, he should have been excited and went looking for her.

And they did rush Zuko coming into the group... maybe that's why everything else felt rushed too. And I felt bad for Toph... she was trying her best to have a moment with Zuko but he just totally blew her off. If everyone else is going to have a moment with Zuko... the creators should have made time for a moment between Toph and Zuko as well.

Also within the season, the creators should have elaborated on Iroh, Lu Ten, and Ursa.

Oh, and Aang... having a rock bump into the hole on his back triggering the Avatar State... that just made the whole Guru episode pointless.

So all i'm saying is that the finale was good, but it could have been better if the previous episodes had more meaning. Because now, most of them seem like fillers. And I'm sad that it is the end of the gaang. And if the creators do decide to make a whole new gaang, I'm sure I'll like them too but I feel like they'll never be as good as the original... and it's horrible that the creators make it seem like we'll never see the original gaang ever again.

Zuko4eva: Azula was just imagining Ursa. I thought that was clear by what Ursa was saying, but even so that's what the shot after the mirror of the empty room was there to establish; Azula was alone. And in the interview with the creators in that awful book they said that since the turtle-loin was so old it had the same scent as the earth and that scent was strong enough to cover all traces of Aang's scent from the shershrew.

they should have established that kind of information in the television series since not all viewers have read the book.

I like to counter some of your points. the first is the fact that the reason to zuko talking to his farther in jail and the Ursa in the mirror is alluding to more episodes or books. The lion turtle is a reference to native american and chines lour. In the last couple of episodes in Aang released that Katara did not love her and that he had to disconnect himself form the her.

Actually Aang gave up Katara in "Crossroads of Destiny"; that's how he was able to enter the Avatar State then, but then it was blocked by a physical force (Azula's lightning) so it makes sense that it could be unblocked by one.

in addition to him letting go of katara, in a previous episode roku told aang that in any circumstance where he was in iminent death the past avatars would trigger the avatar state to make a final attempt in protection for aang

Except he was not hit by lightning...I think XD I thought he was able to stave off Sozins lightning with his air, but it was still too strong and he was pushed back into the rock, in which doing so released the chakra in his solar plexis?

It was cliche because the dialogue was cheesy and predictable and every issue was wrapped up and packaged neatly into 5 minuetes.

"Crossroads of Destiny" was the second part of the S2 finale. And he redirected Ozia's lightning.

I thought that AAng encasing himself in the rock was symbolizing him "isolating himself" like he did in the season 2 finale, and while training with Guru Pathik, in order to release the last chakra...that's why after he was released from it his chakra was released, the same way it was when he came out of the encasing in the season 2 finale. Idk, that's what it seemed like to me...

Where were all the Fire nation soldiers? They invaded the Water benders with more people than that. They just did not seem to put up a fight for the comet To be there. That was was the part I was most mad about. The action shown was good but they left a lot of questions. I dont understand why Aang so scared to kill but he ready to kiss and stuff which I don't think monks teach and I think the next book will be about Zuko looking for his mother. I'm gonna hate this original show is done. WHY DO ALL THE GOOD CARTOONS HAVE TO GO? This was the last cartoon I was watching. Is anything else out there? I guess thats another thread.

Well the FN's soldiers were probably spread thin, you have to remember the fact that even though the FN captured the EK there were still rebels and of course the WT. It wouldnt be easy to mass all your troops in one place.

Aang has always been scared to kill because he was brought up to respect all life and only attacked under self defense unless in the AS because he didnt have control of it until the finale.

There is no Book:4 this has already been confirmed by bryke

Well, there arent really many shows to replace avatar, i mean its a pretty big void. If you want an action cartoon try Ben 10:Alien Force, i guess its ok

I knew about the no book 4. I just know for the love of money even the most noble of people have sold their soul and did something they said the would not do. I hope it would not be for that but I would not be surprised. Thanks for the tip.

The FN had been planning this since the beginning of the book. I watch the show but I dont know how long it was between that meeting and the Comet. That should have been long enough to put something together.
