The FN had been planning this since the beginning of the book. I watch the show but I dont know how long it was between that meeting and the Comet. That should have been long enough to put something together.

The meeting happened in Nightmares and Daydreams, which was set a day before the invasion and eclipse.

Idk, that's what it seemed like to me...

it wasn't to isolate himself... i'm pretty sure he was just trying to protect himself from Ozai's attacks. aang appeared way too scared to be able to focus and release himself. and when the shield was broken, aang was backed into a rock with a portion of it sticking out... that's when that portion had bumped the scar on his back which had caused him visions of the previous avatars and had allowed him to go into the avatar state. his chakra was never released purposely... it seemed all like a very convenient accident.

it was convenient but according to an earlier episode in book 2 when aang became in iminent danger under any circumstance the previous avatars would essentially place him into the avatar state as a last stitch safeguard

And in the interview with the creators in that awful book they said that since the turtle-loin was so old it had the same scent as the earth and that scent was strong enough to cover all traces of Aang's scent from the shershrew.

they should have established that kind of information in the television series since not all viewers have read the book.

wait, "read the book"? you mean there is an actual book with words? I know, i'm an idiot, i get that a lot, but really, there's a book?

After watching the finale, I immediately looked up book spoiler to compare them to the finale. And guess what: Exactly the same.

Now that I have seen this, I now understand the severity of putting out that book months before the finale even aired. It just ruins the fun and suprise for everyone.

That was strange to me, how exactly did the Fire Nation eradicate the Air Nomads in one night?

    I have no idea......
    Go on...

really. how did you miss how powerful they were. they were going to wipe out all of ba sing sae the day and its huge!. the temples looked much smaller. 4 simultaneous attacks on the air temples with 1000 soldiers each would eradicate them very quickly

As for me, it wasn't the book that spoiled it. Upon hearing the release this book before the finale, I tried everything in my power to avoid reading it. But it was the d*mn enclopediadramatica.com that spoiled everything! I accidentally went into that site. That stupid banner of theirs ruined everything I tell's ya!

The series finale was awesome and disappointing at the same time. The battle was epic, but what I don't understand is that if they can kill off Princess Yue, Jet, Kya, not to mention the genocide of the air nomads, why didn't they kill off someone this time? I mean, this is supposed to be the battle of all battles, and no one dies. And the ending was so generic--he meets a giant lion turtle who teaches him how to bend energy instead of the elements, how CONVENIENT! Not to say that Aang becomes a fully realized Avatar(I assume) and Zuko becomes the new Fire Lord. I mean it was pretty much expected but give us something more substantive. Oh and what happened to Ursa and Azula? Did they just completely disappear? And what about this whole Aang and Katara ending? In the Ember Island Players, she confused about her feelings and then when the War is over she finally realizes that she loves Aang? Give me a break. Are you telling me that her feelings were completely based on the outcome of the war? Sokka and Suki managed as well as Zuko and Mei, for whatever time it was worth. Now if I was a writer for Sozin's Comet I would've ended it like this: 1. I would've killed off Iroh, Bumi, Jeong Jeong, Hakoda, Pakku and the other guy(sword master), because they represented the old generation. The new Generation would take over like Sokka becoming the Chief of the southern water tribe, and Zuko continuing not only his position as the new Fire Lord but continuing the order of the white lotus. 2. I would've introduced [Fire Lady] Ursa as a hooded wanderer in the beginning. At the end of the Battle between Zuko, Katara, and Azula, just when Zuko is about to give the final blow (my version) deeming Azula too dangerous, Ursa makes an appearance by saving Azula (preferably through fire bending), both resolving Zuko's search for his mother and Azula's sense of abandonment by her. 3. When Aang was removing the Fire Lord's bending, I would've given insight into Ozai's psyche. It's been hinted that Ozai's relationship with his father, Azulon, is similar to his relationship with Zuko. I would've done something similar to how Smallville had Clark go into Lex's mind. Then after having Aang relieve him of his rage, anger, and resentment, Ozai would've lost his fire bending in a similar way that Zuko did during the the Fire Bending Masters. 4. One of my grievances is Ozai's fire bending. I would've had Ozai be able to control purple fire(hottest in the spectrum). I mean if Azula can use blue fire bending, which is technically stronger than orange-yellow fire bending, then her father should be able to step it up a notch.

    5. Even without all the changes I previously mentioned, one thing I would've changed for sure was the last seven minutes! Instead of that generic ending, I would've done a 10-12 year time-skip! Aang, being 25 years old or 125 years old depending on how you see it, would've been in an air temple, with the restored Air Nomad nation, teaching what I would call blanks (those with no affiliation to any nation) air bending. Zuko, being 29, would be leading the Fire Nation with Fire Lady Mai(2, Azula(27) being the ambassador of the Fire Nation, and Ursa and Ozai living on Ember Island(where they were once truly happy.) Toph(25) would have become the new Earth Queen, since she's one of the most powerful Earth Benders. Sokka(2 as the Chief of the Southern Water Tribe as well as Suki(2 with her visible betrothal necklace are teaching young fighters. Katara(27) teaching young girls and young boys how to water bend. Aang leaves the air temple on Appa, with Momo joining them. Katara rides a canoe (similar to the first episode), while thinking of her past adventures with Aang. She is then greeted by Momo. She deducts that Aang must be close by. She finds Aang with a recreated version of the Iceberg from which she freed him from. They talk, they admit their love for each other, they kiss, then scene changes. After my final 150 year time-skip, a 16 year old water bender, a girl named Kota, was just told she was the avatar. She is told to go in to a room where she'll "meet someone who'll guide her." She sees the statues of Yangchen, Kuruk, Kyoshi, Roku, and that of a monk. The eyes of the statue(monk) glows, as well as hers, taking her to a spiritual plane. An old Air Nomad appears before her. The Air Nomad speaks the final words of the series, saying "Hello there Kota, I'm Avatar Aang!" Now that would've been an awesome and dramatic ending.

There are still no screencaps of "The Southern Raiders" thru "Sozin's Comet part 4: Avatar Aang". Are you people serious about this whole "wait until the DVD comes out" nonsense? It's just so tedious that i actually had to use a Samsung camera and take pictures of certain scenes, just for myself.
