But everything wasn't resolved, it was acknowledged that the FireLord & Avatar still have plenty of work to do before restoring honour to the Fire Nation and restoring the balance of the world.

I suppose, but that again, seemed really cliche, and they said that so it wouldn't seem like a "happily ever after" story. I mean, all of the issues spaninng across the show were resolved. Like really big, in-depth issues.
No. There's still the issue of the Airbenders being wiped out. Also, even Zuko said the world was scarred. It will take a while to restore balance.
of course it's scarred. But it's implied that they can just fix it, they don't really make it out to be this big deal. I guess it just bothered me how they wrapped it up ALOT OF THE ISSUES (not all) so neatly.

Anyone else hate that cookie cutter, cliche, last 5 minuetes? God, way to take the lazy way out, because they managed to resolve all of the shows in depth issues, spaning over many season, into one little short sweet package. Those last 5 minuetes felt like the writing of 7th grade fan in a creative writing class. Don't yell at me, lol, just saying =]

I don't agree, solely because it was purely Avatar. Any other show and I might have been disappointed. But it was just right for this particular one. I have absolutely no criticism to the finale other than the fact that I think Toph should've died.

;( you WANTED TOPH TO DIE!!!!!!! Omg, I'm gonna cry. Sokka and Toph bring the humor to the show and why would wish her to die?? What about that jerk Katara??
How exactly is Katara a jerk?

aang puts his heart and soul into confessing to katara at the ember island players and everyone knows she liked him, but she's supposedely confused about her feelings and then dares to scream at him when he kisses her, that was pretty mean and aang could've done worse when she screamed at him like get a new girl or forget all about her so she should be lucky he likes her too much.

What else really needed to be resolved that wasn't already acknowledged though? And even if it's a happily ever after ending, so what?

No, that would be pretty awful.

I don't have anything specific in mind, it's just that the ending of "The Puppetmaster" made it seem like a really important thing that Katara had learned to bloodbend, and "The Southern Raiders" showed that she'd use it despite herself if she were angry enough, and then...nothing.

Eh, that one time was good enough. I liked the look on Zuko's face especially when he saw her doing it. XD

But what is she suppose to do in a situation like that. She just told him I'm confused, and he randomly kisses her? What the hell, that's not how you get girls, he's lucky she didn't sue.

No it wasn't. It was implied that they are going to fix it, and that it would take a while to fix, when was it ever implied that everything was fixed?

I'm not saying anything else needed to be resolved, I'm just saying it shouldn't have wrapped up so nicely. And I guess the reason a happy ever after ending would bother me, is because the show it better than that kind of writing, in my opinion.

Katara is forced to bloodbend in order to save Sokka and Aang (the lady was going to have Sokka impale Aang with his sword), even though she swore she would never do it. The lady laughs and tells her she's a bloodbender now, and Katara cries. Basically. =P

It was good; Katara was terrifically scary...but it was really just an incidental thing...there's this big depressing thing where she's forced to learn this horrible form of waterbending and cries because it's just so vile...and all she does is bully a Fire Nation captain with it? This feels more like the mid-point of a character arc re: bloodbending.

It wouldn't just be drama, though. It would symbolize that they had to give up something to gain something infinitely more precious.
