I have a question. Why the Air Nomads are called like that if they are not nomads?

They arent nomads they live in the four temples. Nomads are the people who live not in the same partall the time. Air nomads lived in the temples

because every time we see them they're in temples. good point, the air nomads actually do travel around, but they have temples where the monks/nuns live and where the children are raised, but for the most part they did travel around.

As tom said, the temples are used to train young Airbenders how to bend. They only live there for their childhood. It is implied that they would venture around the world once they had become masters and old enough to travel alone. Aang had been just about all over the world if you recall all the friends he would talk about and how they were in different nations. Only a few masters would stay in the temple and teach the kids, not every airbender.

which of course raises the question of how the fire nation killed all of the travelling nomads.

I have another question . Do the Avatar's powers (the glowing and being able to use his past's lives power) show up at a certain age? Because let's say Aang was10 and he got really angry, or upset, or was in trouble, would he be able to use his powers then, and everyone (maybe including him??) would be aware of his Avatar powers before he was 16 (when he was suppose to find out)??

But kids, and babies get upset all the time? So shouldn't be known that he was the Avatar already?? Or do the keepers of the Avatar just make sure they are happy and safe all the time?

Well the Avatar State only activates when Aang is in EXTREME emotional stress or a life threatining situation. Throwing a temper tantrum is diffrent than finding out someone you love was killed/buried/bison-napped. But if anything like that happened when he was young, he would probably be able to activate it.

of "Avatar"? might be, but the one thing that is certain is that it will be last book starring Aang and Zuko according to Mike and Bryan

if they make a book 4 after they finish the live movies, it will involve other characters

I know this actually hasn't been answered in the show, but I just wanted someone elses view: How did the first Avatar know he/she was the avatar. Because they couldn't go into the AS because thats the past lives. And it's not asthough they would try and bend any other element because they would have no need to. This has confused me for awhile.

I think that they just felt a need to bend other elements, like other benders do when they discover they are benders. Or a spirt told them who they were/what to do.

Can water benders only bend water, or can they bend other types of liquid, like glass?
