OK.. In Aang's epic fight with Ozai, when he redirects the last lightning blast, Im pretty sure Aang screws it up. You don't see his arm go down to his stomach he cringes and theres like lightning and stuff, so I'm pretty sure he electrecuted himself, and it couldn't have been for Ozai since he hadn't scene where he was firing the lightning. Can anyone confirm this or if i'm wrong explain it?
The movement Iroh taught Zuko was just so he could visualise the internal movement of chi required. It would not require him to move his arms but to guide the lightning energy internally.

I'm sure that what happened is Sokka or Zuko mentioned something too vulgar for Nick and they had to take it out.

pobably sokka said something like this after zuko asked if jet just died, "Ya, i think the bone in his nose went into his brain" idk if they'd say that but it might be close....

Just found out that it's Firebending... . It fits Firebending WAY more aswell, Scientifically and realistically speaking (OUR universe), I would call it a mix, but it works with the Human Beings of the Fire Nation perfectly... . I can tell I'm boring people now, but I just want to ask, how is everyone...?

Really it should be earthbending, since lava is nothing more than molten rock, but whatever. I'll go with firebending.

Earthbending. As Tomtitan said, lava is just really, really hot rock. It's not technically fire. Saying lava can be bended by firebenders is like saying my yummeh, hot turkey pot pie can be bended. It's just an extreme case of that

It could be both, since both Katara and Toph could bend that rockwater stuff in "The Drill".

But doens't Earth-bending usually have direct contact or very near non-contact with the object?(or at least to iniate the bending at times)

You could say the same about the other 3 elements with the direct contact. You can never be too far away from water or air. Fire is a little different because you create it, but you can't create it too far away. And the only reason Katara and Toph could bend that rockwater was because that's what it was, ROCK and WATER. Lava has nothing to do with fire just because it's hot.

but fire is not about "fire itself" but about heat energy, otherwise they could not do lightning

and the lava is heat manifested

technically, FN should be able to bend steam also, but not water in itself

Good point! . Come to think of it, I think it would be a little bit cooler if Lava was bended by Earthbenders... If they could just change the colour of Lava and Magma in the show, it would fit Earth more (it looks to much like Fire)!

But the steam IS the water. The FB's can bend heat, but not what is emanating the heat. Your argument supports the fact that they can, for instance, bend the sun. They can take away and add heat, but they cannot change what is being heated.

It won't even let me see all of my blogs! I hate this new layout. And there's no way to change it back.
