A question that has nothing to do with the cryogenic stasis that season 3 is currently in! Yaaay!
Why do people hate "The Great Divide"? It is almost universally vilified as the worst Avatar episode in existence, even when compared to such craptastic piles of steaming, OOC flying bison turd like "The Beach".
I for one, thought that the episode was very cliched, but at the same time funny, with a nice pacing and a good, logical wrap to the whole deal. Than, again, I'm but one voice.
Why is it hated so? Why?

Lots of people on this forum have this mindset that makes them classify an episode as bad if it doesn't advance the plot or cause drastic character development. I admit, The Great Divide is on the bottom of my list for favorite episode. However, just because it's on the bottom of my list, does not mean I disliked it. I still consider that episode to be better than the best episodes of other series.
But it's all a matter of opinion I guess. I for one, thoroughly enjoyed The Beach.

Well, you know what they say, de gustibus non est disputandum. Or, as Protagoras once said: Homo mensura est.
NO links whatsoever.
What episode of Spongebob shows him getting struck by lightning? (I'm making a gif)

As far as we know, he cannot.

As far as we know, that is impossible to tell, considering there have not been any spirits that would be otherwise invisible to anyone other than someone with experience in the spirit world. We know that Sokka remembers the spirit world, but we don't know if he was gifted with the same 'enlightenment' that Iroh supposedly went through in the spirit world. As far as I know, we don't even know if Iroh's trip to the spirit world gave him the ability to see spirits. Perhaps the ability led to the actual trip.

Are you getting the wrong impression?
There's Spongebob 4 times every 3 hours if you look at the schedule above.
