Kids have to grow up fast in wars. I can't imagine a 16 year old leading an army. I can't imagine a 14 year old girl terrifying grown men into subordination, or a 12 year old boy quite literally being the saviour of the world. These kids are mature far beyond their wars, having your life ripped apart by war will do that to a person. |

However, just because a kid is amazing, saves the world, kicks butt, and whatnot, does not mean they are any good at relationships, again proven by the above animes. So while they might do amazing things, and act in totally unexpected ways (From what we'd expect from kids that age in real life), their relationships don't tend to be all grown-up and serious like the way the kids act in battle. As for relationships in avatar, the only ones that have worked with deep reciprocating feelings are from the older characters (George and Maiko). Hmm....don't ask where I'm going with this. Not sure myself. I think I'm just saying that kids might act out of the ordinary on anime, but tend to be pretty bad at relationships, particularly when younger. There. I'll be quiet now. (I'm going to hunt down Mike and Bryan if all they showed at NYCC was a trick to eventually piss off Zutarans...) |

Well, I really like Sukka now, almost more than Kataang. I never knew Suki was so awesome. As for Maiko, well I'd say it's been strengthened. From the way Zuko looked when he was talking about her, to Mai explicitly saying that she loves him (which should appease the crazy!Zutarians, since everything has to be spelled out for them ), Maiko's pretty much endgame, unless Mai dies and I doubt that Zuko would just go to Katara after Mai dies. Or both Mai and Zuko could die together. They are somewhat similar to the tale of Oma and Shu.

The fact that Mai loves Zuko doesn't change the fact that she doesn't seem to understand him. |

Whether Maiko happens in the end, I'm not sure. Zuko cares for Mai, Mai loves Zuko. They have a deep relationship (which kinda felt like is started out of the blue at the start of the third season, which is probably why I don't like it as much as Zutara (don't hate it either...)) Also, I know this is nitpicking, but Mai kinda admitted to the end of their relationship since appearing in BR ("ripped out my heart" "saving the jerk who dumped me..." nothing that hinted at her still seeing a future between them...), despite saying she loves him. She never once gave him any direct confirmation of her feelings, despite saving them at the end. Like I said, nitpicking, we'll just have to see.
Also, in line with my theory that Mike and Bryan intend to leave all relationships concerning Aang, Katara, and Zuko open-ended (what about Toph! It makes as much sense for her to be with Sokka as it does Aang to be with Katara! I hate that they've strung her along as they have!) I'm expecting we'll see more tangible Zutara moments (I think I recall hearing something about Mike and Bryan putting in more future moments between Zuko and Katara that hint on attraction, but I can't remeber where), and more Kataang, but I'm predicting that nothing will be concrete in the end, bc MnB know how much it would anger entire groups of fans, as well as perhaps be a little inappropriate considering the show's nature and quickly-approaching end.

One thing I noticed that Zutarians say is that Maiko started out of the blue, yet it had foreshadowing showing that Mai liked Zuko and a comic showing that Zuko liked Mai. Maiko out of blue = bad Zutara out of blue = good? |

"Cardcaptors, a quest for adventure! Cardcaptors, a quest for all time!" Yeah, i did miss you. I was actually gone longer, because I hadn't seen TBR yet, until last night! |
When I saw that BR aired I screamed that doesnt make me any less of a man. Also Zuko will be with Mai after he helps Aang bring peace to the world.

I screamed also (amidst much spazzing), but I'm a girl, so I don't worry about being less of a man Also, you guys probably already have low opinions of me (being a crazed zutarian and all, lol), so what does it matter? |

And yeah, you're loved, and there's the over zealous Zutarian rants. It's a little of both. And there's also that my Avatar is blue and yours is red. |
