1- ship is not about sex

3 I want you to do a mental exercise

    Remember "Zuko alone"?

imagine the kid in the flashbacks named zuko at the time of Azulon's death(he was about 11)with 14 year old katara

you will give no chance to that ship(zuko/katara) just because you think at 16 he would be exactly the same as he was at 11?

so why you don't think the same for Aang/katara???

it doesn't matter if Aang is right now mature or not

they not getting married right after sozin's comet battle

if they get married, it will be like when aang is 20 and katara 22

I wasn't referencing to his maturity; I said kid's could do amazing things and found an example.

    When did I say this?

The only thing remotely close to that is when I mentioned the guru's explanation of the Air Nomads love. I NEVER preach why Katara MUST love someone; actually read my posts instead of guessing what I mean.

aang is not FUC*ING MATURE. kids cant be mature you idiot. damn. but did i not say that since this is FUC8ING fictional tv show that anyhting can happen? i already know that in ancient days girls married at the age of 16. um but is aang a girl? sure the guru said that love reincarnated itself from the nomads to katara. but doesnt love have many meanings? like friendly or motherly love? and hell yeah i can tell you that your info is bull. sheesh. and PLEASE give me some stories of kids out there doing amazing things that people twice, even three times their age cannot. i'd like to read that.

Stop taking the word "mature" into one context. It has multiple meanings for a reason. Go look it up in a dictionary if you must, but a kid can act mature. I never even mentioned marriage, I was pointing out that relationships were formed often during younger years. I like how you bring up that love has many meanings when you're stuck on one meaning of maturity. Sure, it could mean those loves too, but it still doesn't rule out true love. Most of what I say, I take directly from what is seen in the show, I'm sorry if you don't know how to comprehend things. Go ahead and state something I'm saying that's "bull", I'll give you proof to it, thus showing it's not "bull" as you seem to consider my thoughts. As for a kid doing something amazing...

    Here's a story for example: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/04/21/tech/main550399.shtml

YES i did look up the dictionary for the word mature. and none of those apply to aang. and oh see! a kid can ACT mature. but IS aang really mature? no.

i know you didnt mention marriage. but you did mention engagement. doesnt that mean to be married? and seriously, i already said that since this is a fictional tv show, that younger relationships are probably formed because of the fact that the characters were written to be young and this show was meant to be targeted to kids.

in a realistic sense, from what i see in the show. aang said "i cant let katara go! i- i love her!" and since im certain that aang is becoming less immature but not MATURE, that aang does not know the true meaning of love. YET, i said that this is a tv show. so anything can f' ing happen.

i guess thats me then. i cant comprehend things. damn. i tend to defend my opinions. and of course im considering your thoughts you idiot. im obviously arguing with you arnt i? sheesh.

and you got to be kidding me with that story. a 13 yr old kid going into college? thats not mature you idiot. thats a child prodigy right there. how do YOU know that he is a really mature person?

The problem for me has never been the age difference betwen Aang and Katara, just simply HIS AGE! He's still a kid in the perspectives of most, and despite the level of responsiblity and importance placed upon him, he's still a kid. Does that mean he's not ready for such a relationship? Well... if I think about how I was when I was his age, the answer would be a resounding NO. I barely had a concept of how complicated such relationships were (and much of the childish crush perceptive wears off as you get older). So I guess the question is, can I picture him, a fun-loving prepubescent boy, in a deep, serious relationship? Considering I had a girlfriend when I was 12 and have one now, I can guarantee you that much changes in the short time span between 13 and 15 years , and even between 15 and 16, but not as much. So I guess the reason I've never been a Kataanger (and yes, I'm expecting it to happen despite bing a Zutaran), is because I see alot of myself in Aang when I was his age, and I remember quite clearly how different I felt about such things like having a girlfriend back then. I guess I just feel that Katara deserves someone more mature (like her) and understanding about relationships than Aang. Not that I want Aang to end up by himself! I just can't see him and Katara tying the not AS OF NOW. Maybe in two or three years, but right now I'm sure much of it is still over Aang's head. He loves Katara and has a crush on her, but I don't think he truly understands the depth pf such things right now. Honestly I think Mike and Bryan are taking this into account as well and are not planning on solidifying there relationship within the span of the rest of the season. I know, sux not knowing. Hope everyone's happy at the end of the series regardless.

I stand by my belief that Aang has turned 13 by now (the series started in the fall and it will be ending late summer in the Avatar world).

So make that a 113 pedo

woot finally saw boiling rock. very very good episode. but onto shipping. no development in kataang . unfortunately for tokka fans im sure this ship failed and george has won, congrats. i think maiko still has a very strong chance, it showed that mai still loves zuko even after the 'breakup' but im sure they will get back together. as for zutara well i stand by my beliefs that its the biggest and most popular crack ship and doesnt stand a chance against the overwellming proof of kataang. just my 2 cents.

Stop clouding the issue with logic and facts! If everyone were to be this reasonable, then this shipping war bonanza would be at an end and I'd have to go somewhere else for fun!
What's this? A Zutarian using Aang's age in a reasonable way? And one that I'm assuming Kataangers can't actually bash? Wow, I am impressed.

But yeah, age difference isn't the issue for me either - like spade749, its just Aang's age in general. I have 3 younger brothers, and the thought of the youngest (11, nearly 12-year-old) being completely and truly in love with someone is just WEIRD. I mean, i can understand him having crushes on people, even older kids (you look up to them and whatnot), but to imagine him being in deep passionate love with someone (particularly when he's not even a teenager yet)? I don't think so. He's simply not emotionally mature enough for anything beyond a crush.

And all those who argue "oh, they can just get married in the future or whatever" the fact remains that they would be starting a (serious) relationship NOW. Kissing/whatever or not, I still think its very weird for a 12-year-old to be in that situation. Aang wants a serious relationship (which does NOT mean he wants to have sex every 5 minutes, it just means he wants that deep connection and whatnot), but I just can't see it being possible at his age. He's just too young, Avatar or not. Sure he's grown up a bit and is maturing, but I don't see him as emotionally mature enough for the serious relationship he wants with Katara.

There. Have my 2 cents too (I spend way too much money on these topics....lol)

to the ones who say "Aang is only 12, he is not mature enuff for a ship" 1- ship is not about sex 2- they will not get married soon after the comet's battle, if they get married it will be years later, even Suki/sokka (probably 2 or 3 yrs later)and Mai/Zuko(if that is what bryke decides) 3 I want you to do a mental exercise Remember "Zuko alone"? imagine the kid in the flashbacks named zuko at the time of Azulon's death(he was about 11)with 14 year old katara you will give no chance to that ship(zuko/katara) just because you think at 16 he would be exactly the same as he was at 11? so why you don't think the same for Aang/katara???
it doesn't matter if Aang is right now mature or not they not getting married right after sozin's comet battle if they get married, it will be like when aang is 20 and katara 22
Or when Aang is 84 and Katara is 86. They'll both look like old geezers so age wouldn't make a difference then.

Kids have to grow up fast in wars. I can't imagine a 16 year old leading an army. I can't imagine a 14 year old girl terrifying grown men into subordination, or a 12 year old boy quite literally being the saviour of the world.

These kids are mature far beyond their wars, having your life ripped apart by war will do that to a person.

While I am a fan of Zatara I am even bigger fan of Maiko. I'm sorry, but Mai risked her freedom (and almost her life) to save Zuko. The hug in the trailer between Zuko and Katara could be 1 of 3 things (or mult) 1. Thanks for something (she did just get her dad back because of him) or 2. Something bad happens and he is there ready to comfort. 3. end of the battle 'glad you're not dead.'

I am freaking tired of the 'Aang is not mature enough for Katara' arguement. Well, that thing's based mostly on AGE! If that's what people are going by, then Katara is too immature for Zuko just like Aang is too immature for Katara.

    See what I did there?

actually, i would think katara is too immature for zuko sometimes if zutara does happen.

and you got to be kidding me with that story. a 13 yr old kid going into college? thats not mature you idiot. thats a child prodigy right there. how do YOU know that he is a really mature person?

Since that first day of college, Greg has shot up 13 inches - "5 feet 7," he says proudly - but his maturity and personal growth are much harder to quantify, said his mentor, psychology professor Michael Wessells.

I wasn't referencing to his maturity; I said kid's could do amazing things and found an example.

    oh ok

So just because Aang is the awesometastic Avatar, Katara has to love him? Oh please. Your lack of an argument means I won the little shipping squabble.

    When did I say this?

The only thing remotely close to that is when I mentioned the guru's explanation of the Air Nomads love. I NEVER preach why Katara MUST love someone; actually read my posts instead of guessing what I mean.

    ok fine then

aang is not FUC*ING MATURE. kids cant be mature you idiot. damn. but did i not say that since this is FUC8ING fictional tv show that anyhting can happen? i already know that in ancient days girls married at the age of 16. um but is aang a girl? sure the guru said that love reincarnated itself from the nomads to katara. but doesnt love have many meanings? like friendly or motherly love? and hell yeah i can tell you that your info is bull. sheesh. and PLEASE give me some stories of kids out there doing amazing things that people twice, even three times their age cannot. i'd like to read that.

Is it necessary to call someone an idiot several times?

    i guess not. idiot.

    haha jk
