    No not really, because its definite that Benders appeared before Avatars, as shown by the fact first Earth benders werent Avatars. Its an explanation of the origin of the Avatar being that the first one was a descendant of the first, most powerful benders and its his/her spirit (Avatar Spirit) that passes on to other descendants, creating the chain. Besides, the egg came first, seeing as chickens evolved via a gradual evolution

    what it that chick who learned to earthbend was the first bender in the world thn learned the other elements. then other people learned soo the avatar came before the benders.

    Gilvatar, in the Cave of the Two Lovers it never said that the guy (who died) or the women learnt the other elements, and its not exactly something u forget to put down Dam ur Avatar Chicken; wait, Are u saying Aang's spirit's a chicken *jk*

    BUt the Legend of the Moon and the Ocean, along with the Earthbender lovers doesnt include an Avatar
