Sup.??Anyway yeah I said the same thing awhile back. One good thing about "fillers" (still don't care for the naming of these things) is that we get to see the characters display real (sortof) personality rather than them just simply??responding to an external source of conflict (did not care for the Drill). And??yeah??the Tales were better than most "fillers" I've seen. Course??I??don't think I've seen all that many, ah well. ??Lotta parenthesis there.??..Yeah.

If they are really great--I won't mind. But if they are just 'okay' or bad (like most fillers are) I do mind. However I didn't mind this at all. We got to see Luten's face as a grown up.

I view Tales of Ba Sing Se like I do the issues of X-Men Unlimited and Spider-Man Unlimited.?? Sometimes, there are stories that help to show the depth of characters or little aspects you don't normally get to see.?? But they aren't stories that can fit well into the main storylines without ruining the flow or just feeling like they were slapped in.?? It's sometimes the little things that actually tell us more about people.?? Like the saying goes, integrity isn't doing the right thing, but doing it when no one is watching.

i think the creators of avatar wanted to have a tribute to mako, but didnt knw how to fit it in, so they did wat they did, and it.. well... lets just say it could have been A LOT worst...lol

Feel free to hate filler episodes all you want, but they are necessary and often give you information important later in the show, although it might not seem evident at the time, and
they also show great character development (In Avatar fillers, at least).

    Personally, I'm okay with fillers.

3 episodes of filler? City of Walls and Secrets had very important stuff that adds to the plot. Plus, season one had tons of fillers. "Imprisoned" "the Great Divide" "the Fortuneteller"

More or less. I wouldn't exactly constitute three as "tons"

    *sigh*

    I was exaggerating...

Quite aware of that, yes. Ok, I was actually just using what you said as the basis for my statement. Huh, this pretty late, ah well I think you saved it with that *sigh* thing.

Oh well, I liked this episode, although it was a filler one :3

Toph/Katara: I liked this one, because we got a glimpse of what is behind the tough, invincible mask Toph wears and we got to see the girl she really is ^_^

??Iroh: Very touching, in my opinion ;_; I had to cry at the mako tribute, and the song is stuck in my head now.

Aang: I don't really have an opinion about this one... it was nice, yeah, but nothing?? more or less ^_^'

Sokka: What really surprised me, is the fact that??he is interested in poetry xD the part where he started rapping really cracked me up *lol*

Zuko: This one was kind of sweet, I think... Hey, please put down the knives, zutarians! I'm just saying that I liked seeing Zuko acting like a normal teenage guy, and not like the banished prince, who only cares about getting the avatar to restore his honour ^_^ (I always like this kind of scenes). And Jin is not as bad as many people say, I think.??I have to agree though, that the firebending scene was kind of stupid, but ok, Zuko IS an very impulsive person, and does whatever pops into his mind.

    Momo:?? Very cute and sad, Momo really misses his big friend ;^;

We already know that underneath it all, Toph is still a girl. She's flaked out plenty of times already and shown a little more of herself than she originally wanted. Toph's sideshow - amusing, yet ultimately pointless.

Iroh's story - The entire reason I didn't swear off the show based on this one episode alone. Why didn't they just do a Iroh Alone episode in the same vein as Zuko Alone. Iroh runs through BSS, helps people, finds tea, sings a song, gets into a fight with an expert thief and makes it to his son's funeral on time. If Appa can get the limelight, so can Iroh.

Aang - Boring story, little to worry about, and the sudden inconsistancy of Aang being some kind of Earthbending Master. He didn't even need to touch the ground for that Bend! That's what I call Earthbending!

Sokka - Funny, but mostly a distraction.

Zuko - If Jen doesn't turn out to be some kind of plant for a future episode where she betrays Zuzu, I'm gonna be mad. A lot of the events felt forced and the "magical scene" at the lantern springs was way too convienient.

Momo - Here's a nice thought! Momo misses Appa! Momo does other things, Momo finds a HUGE foot print. Momo misses Appa! I liked the thought, but the whle episode was filler with 3 things you needed to know. Heck, I could have caught up with that on a primer before the finale.

Flaming, as a double entendre, means both "to incite discord through slander" and "homosexual to an abnormal degree". Hence, falaming.

I like these kind of fillers as long as they aren't dumb. I don't like traveling adventure where they just jump from point to point. Always cool to see what happens in between big points while they're on the road. Like a book really.
It would be dumb to see them get in Ba Sing Se then just leave the next epi.

I really don't see the thing with Jin.
All I saw was that, the lamps weren't lit at that moment, and Zuko cared enough to risk his identity.
And the fact that those lamps weren't lit at that moment like a strange coincidence, well that kind of stuff always happens with romance stories. Jin turning out to be a spy would to me be a really dumb random twist.

The only thing I think would have improved was that it would be an hr long or increase some of the stories. Cuz I think Iroh's and Zuko's were too short. They would have been great as seperate epi's. An Iroh epi, and another Zuko epi with Iroh in it of course.

How is that a dumb twist? He's the easily recognizable Fire Prince in a kingdom of Earth Benders and slimy politicians. We've already seen Jet try to take him out head on and fail - It's always the woman who really hurts the fighter.

Jet saw them do some bending.

And have you seen in cartoons how 1 thing can hide a person?
Superman with his glasses, Danny Phantom with just greeen eyes and white hair, and Azula didn't recognize Aang til his hat fell off.

And twists can't just be brought in. You make her an assasin from no where makes it looks either exaggerating, boring, or overused. It has to take an approach or w/e. There also has to be a point to it. So another person lies and is an assasin, big woop de doo da.?? He already went through that. Nothing new.

So unless there are some real hints or some kind of approach, and a point to it, it's silly.

Ugh I'm having a tough time with words right now.

Sometimes, it's the woman that inspires the fighter to keep going or live again.?? There have been instances in literature and movies where it is the woman that cools the man's rage.?? If she were really an assassin like you keep hoping, there would have been some obvious indication of it.?? Like she reports to one of the Dai Lee.?? Sometimes, a young peasant girl with a crush is just a young peasant girl with a crush.?? If I were going to try to get information, I'd go through Iroh.?? Just looking on the surface, he is the more cheerful and friendly one.?? It's obvious he has a great love of tea, so I'd have someone chat him up about tea as the main common interest.?? It's the least likely to be suspicious, and they wouldn't have any real idea what kind of girl Zuko would be interested in.?? He might have been turned off by her exuberant manner.?? And how suspicious would it be if another girl started hitting on him right after??? Iroh would be the way to go.
