I know this isn't part of the topic, but som1 is giving scores of the TBA episodes a 1.0. That's g@y man, you don't give a 1 to all episodes you haven't even seen yet. I can tell because each episode is like an average of 8.2 and with like 7 votes in total. I think it may be an obsessed Naruto fan, lol. |
I agree with what you're saying, but could you not use the word gay??in place of stupid? That's kind of derogatory.

??If this is to be taken at face value--that Zuko has turned his back on Iroh and chosen the path of acceptance by the Fire Nation yet again--then I no longer wish to watch this series.?? I no longer want anything for Zuko, but whatever horrible things that come to him, he wholly deserves, and he will not have my pity. This was his crossroads.?? This was his choice.?? This was where he got the option to control his own destiny and be whoever he wanted to be.?? Everything we have seen before has been building up to this point--his fever during The Earth King was like a phoenix pyre for the soul, letting him become someone else who, perhaps, he should have been.?? He let go of the Blue Spirit, and was in the process of letting go of the Prince. This was his turning point, his point of no return. And he chose poorly.?? Not just because he chose the non-Avatar side.?? I mean, he's been opposing them pretty much the entire series. But he chose Azula's side.?? He should have known better.?? Of all the people in the series, Azula should be the person he least trusts.?? The dirty-dealing, conniving little sister full fo spite and pride. Zuko had his face turn handed to him, gift-wrapped with a big bright red ribbon.?? And he cast it down on the ground and stomped on its throat.?? He doesn't deserve another, and any good guy turn from him will seem false and forced, now. But still... I have hope that he and Iroh have a plan.?? Azula left them alone together, probably counting on her amazing charm and presence to finish without her--Zuko's always been her psychological chewtoy, after all.?? but years of mistreatment, followed by his own metamorphosis, might just have left him more resistant.?? Cunning plans like this aren't Zuko's department, of course.?? But the Dragon of the West is a cunning old fox. This is, of course, entirely supposition. Except for one thing. Azula had the Dai Li secure Iroh before she made her sales pitch to Zuko, and then left them alone.?? We all know that.?? Later on, Zuko shows up, apparently on Azula's side. And then, like a miracle, Iroh jumps into the fray. So how did he get loose??? Who broke open his prison? Because if the writers really did just forget that Iroh had been boxed up already...it's just another part of what feels like one of the worst-written endings ever. |
Your rather harsh. How did you survive the first season? I personally don't care what Zuko chooses.

shallow finale. that's all i can say. characters return to who they were at the beginning of the season. that's not "WOW i was so surprised! that's great!" it's more like "wow, you could have just told me that the characters would make no progress at the beginning so i could have saved some of my time" avatar just jumped the shark. only toph truly developed as a character. the others are shallow and predictable at this point. |

I understand your reaction to that ardron, but I also I totally understand how bysmerian feels.???? The more I try to explain/rationalize Zuko's actions in the finale, the more I get a sick feeling in my stomach.?? But hang on, bsymerian, don't give up hope.?? Let's just try to find something else to do for the next 6 months to get our minds off of this betrayal, I guess...
I'm mostly hanging out in the Battlestar Galactica section at Sci-Fi.Com.??Yes, being in the Avatar section is painful because it reminds me of our current predicament and the hiatus of DEATH LONG WAITING ZOMG. But once the wounds have healed I plan on delving back into the fandom to keep my inner Avatard alive and thriving. Fanfiction helps a whole lot! The bald that??salvs my soul.??There's a fabulous fanfic called "Roses of the Vale" which rolls like a Disney movie yet you really get a feel this is the world of Avatar. I plan on writing my own Avatar Kyoshi epic, and if you want to see a sample of my writing check out here:
It's a oneshot about the night the moon was slaughtered, seen through the eyes of one who was not at the North Pole, Suki.
Until then the Avatard in me is taking a nice long snooze, rising once a day to make sure the world doesn't end.
I apologie in advance if these points have already been made.?? I'm wondering who else feels that maybe Zuko did not betray Uncle Iroh??? Wouldn't it seem exactly like Iroh to formulate a plan with zuko to infiltrate Azula's command of ba sing se.?? Think about it.?? He would have access to info and access to Azula that the avatar may need in the times to come.?? i really don't feel that the writers would just disregard all the changes Zuko has gone through this season just to have him revert back.??
okay now i've seen a few people complain about Aang "giving up Katara" at the end.?? I think if you watch the episode again you'll see that the guru says he has to "learn to let her go."?? is it not possible that he meant that the "Fear" of losing Katara is holding Aang back.?? That he could learn to accept that she may one day leave in one way or another and that by accepting that and "letting go" of that fear he will unlock his chakra and receieve the cosmic power to control the avatar state.?? I don't beleieve releasing the love??an avatar has for someone would enable them to master the A.S. but releasing the fear that holds??that holds them back might.??
what do you think??? Do these ideas of mine hold water?
