    I personally always thought that it was a mixture of the pure pwnage of Kataang and the fact that Aang is more comfortable with waterbending then with earth and fire bending. I think that the principles of waterbeing are more similar to airbending that the other two elements that Aang has learned.

    yes, mangafreak, they are so similar, however if any other master teached aang waterbending, he wouldn't have learned it as quick as he did when Katara taught him. Face it, it's the truth.
