Water has a devastating final attack move, unlike air. It's impossible to do some real damage with Airbending, however it's possible using your environment.

True, Water was once my favourite element, but once I saw the finale, and what Firebending is capable of at it's true zenith and power limit, I changed my mind... It is still my second favourite though.

Actually, Air can be incredibly destructive. In DoBS part 2, Aang threw a gob of condensed air at Azula that crushed the sturdy looking metal throne she'd been siting on like a softdrink can being run over by a car. If that air attack could utterly destroy a metal throne, just imagine what it could do to a person. Aang has shown the ability to use Airbending to slice a watermelon cleanly in half. He could do the same to a person's head. Airbending can be quite deadly.

I never said you did...? I am saying that because of how artistic and cool the different colours of Fire were in "The Firebending Masters" and how amazingly powerful it has been shown to be in the finale, I changed my mind when it came to Water being my favourite, and I now love Fire the most, with Water STILL being a close second favourite...Axrendale is right, Air is probably the most lethal at it's full, unleashed power.

Like in "The Desert" when Aang was angry that one of those bee-like creatures tried to steal Momo, he struck it down and killed it with a sharp wave of air. He did this with ease too (He was sad and angry, but the move itself wasn't difficult for him).

I think that earth and water can be much more lethal than fire and air. Although air can slice a watermelon in half, earth can do it much more easily. Air and fire are not solid (well, water isn't, but you know what I mean ). Both can be easily blocked by something like water or earth. Aang could've done a lot more damage earthbending that large bee than airbending it.

I think firebending is definitely the most lethal. These people can shoot lightning bolts capable of blowing apart cliffs. You don't get much more lethal than that.

Earth benders can split cliffs with a movement of the hand.

Yes, but that will not help them split a man in two - part of the cliff needs to fall on the person for that to be lethal.

Electricity won't split a man in two. It'll kill him, no doubt, but won't split him in two. In fact, I'm surprised they gave Aang the mark on his back from the lightening. It was for theatrical effects, I suppose. Earthbending can split a person in half with a sharp rock.

They don't need to be in mid air. As long as they can propel themselves it's no big deal. They can create huge stone columns to propel themselves.

I've been reading what you've guys been talking about and you guys are both kinda right. What titanpredator is trying to say that the drive is more by how big your self resolve is then your emotional thoughts and feelings that you have while your bending. Like you see with jeong-Jeong his resolve is that you don't need to have any such emotion to draw upon your bending ability, but more of the need to call upon it but the twisted thoughts or well character of his is just like when aang burnt katara's hands with his uncontrolled firebending. jeong-Jeong doesn't want to hurt anybody because he doesn't know his own limits that's why he left the army its mostly likely because he hurt a lot of people and saw the damage he caused.and he wanted to repent for it by training aang and fighting the fire army. Thats why he said that's why he wished for katara's healing ability with waterbending when he saw her heal her hands with it so that he could heal all the pain that he caused during the war. sorry for interrupting your conversation just trying to set things straight since Jeong-Jeong is the number2 best firebender and Iroh is Number 1 Jasmine tea all the way.

Yeah, I kinda agree with that. But Ozai was 1 when he could firebend. So that would make Iroh 2 and Jeong Jeong 3.

But Fire is in my eyes also the most lethal element. Air can be lethal to, but every move with fire is dangerous, exept if you have perfect control like Jeong Jeong and being able to make the flames weak. But at full power, fire is da best!

i think fire is most lethal, then earth, then water, and lastly air. Airbending won't do any damage to an Earthbender, firebenders included, they only do damage to things that can't think like a human being. tell me, was it easy for aang when he only knew airbending? no. as the story proceeded and aang learned more and more the four elements, he proceeded on with ease to problems. however, katara and toph, each knowing just one element, went just fine, as well as zuko (however, zuko lost his fair share). so i'm just saying, airbending is not as powerful as the other 4 elemetns.

I'd be inclined to disagree with you on that. Air may not have the most raw power, but it is definitely the most versatile element. Aang demonstrated in B1 that you can do everything with from shooting rocks at people (106) to stopping volcanos (114). Aang with Airbending did just fine in those seasons - arguably better than Katara and Toph even.

No he didn't, air being a fairly peaceful element. But he did far better in episodes where there was no fighting to be done, and other bending skills were needed.
