Danmod, you do see the contradictions in your post don't you? This reaction of yours to all the commotion that has been brought up in the past few days, or even longer, makes you no different from the users who are extremely ticked off. And you wonder why you all, the mods and staff, have a headache about the whole situation. I'm not going to sugar coat it: You, the other staff members, the mods, as well as the users here, lack compassion and understanding. Point blank. I don't say that to offend you all. I say that because I like you all. Especially my Avatard brothers and sisters. The mods and staff are going about this the wrong way. And my fellow Avatards aren't necessarily going about it the right way either. It's a shame to come back here and see so many "friends" have left and what not. And it's an extreme shame to hear that the relationship between the mods, staff, and users hasn't improved.

I suggest my fellow Avatards take up the Owlistic principles and not fuel this thread any longer. I offer the [/thread] symbol. And I ask of you, Danmod, to delete this thread and/or rewrite it. Because the way it is now is counterproductive.

danmod, I respectfully ask you to create a special thread anyplace of your choice, here, or in mods forum or whatever, and ask avatar and naruto fans most of all, but to others too, and see "how both the staff and members can work together" to make things smoother and with more common sense, and that the staff of TVcom would consider all the things that would be talked about in there

consider this danmod; what is disruptive? using the word "you can't post anything disruptive" is a can of worms. the word disruptive is basically open to not just the interpretation of the mods, but also of members themselves

I could post in a thread "I can't understand why atheist can't believe in God" and an atheist can easily take it as a flame when all it is is that I said I could not understand, not "I think they are !!@#$$@!@ and don't want anything with them"

This forum has changed so much since when I first joined......Danmod you might be frustrated with the Avatar forum but really I don't think you should just complain about what we're doing wrong. I think you should focus on what we can do to improve, and maybe our forum wouldn't have so much flaming if you'd change the requirements to creating new threads. Because the Level 1's with the stupid clown icons are giving US a headache.

I am sorry about the way I acted to you earlier, in my PM. But you said there that with so many forums, it was hard to keep track on this one. But you have to have been on it long enough to ban all the vetrans. So I ask you the simple question, why do you ban people like Lisa and Nales, yet took so long to ban Gelem, Bessiebee, etc.

    HN

lot of people got fed up when Lisa was banned highly unjustly

do you know that when all of this is done in a few days, we might have as much as 6 DOD banned? Lisa, Nalez, deeduck, KA, Brady and Raien? probably just 5 or 4(I don't think Raien will be one of the top 3, Brady is a question mark)

I'm sorry too- normally I don't get into fights with people. (I have a blood sugar problem and didn't eat soon enough). I've already PM'd the person apologizing.

However, I still want to know why you feel obligated to belittle the people of this forum and ban all the nicest people here. You basically just threatened us in your most recent post. Why are you singling out the Avatar fans? We've flamed much worse and gotten into bigger wars BECAUSE you've put us all on edge. Once people stop caring, all heck breaks loose.

I haven't threatened anyone, I'm simply explaining how things work. I am not insulting anyone, I'm just telling you what we have to deal with on a regular basis. And I'm not picking on the Avatar fans, this forum has been a problem for a long time, if anything, I should've posted sooner.

Umm...Danmod? I've got a simple question. I got a notification the other day that I've been suspended for five days (unfairly, IMO). But, as you can see, I can still post.

    What's up?

Why only respond to the straightforward criticism? Why not respond to the intelligent, solution providing responses of Wiselad & Humblenewb?

I would love to believe that, but the way you're going about stopping the problem doesn't make any sense. You gave somebody a suspension for a signature violation when they had no sig. Most of the people you ban so quickily are the nicest people on the thread.

And when the mods do things like ban people and THEN tell them that what they're doing is wrong, that just confuses me.

danmod have you or staff even considered(or even read) what I have posted to make things easier for all communities and yourselves in many threads in the past?

editors having at least 2(maybe 4 in some) assistants to edit and delete threads and posts promptly, and they can recommend members to ban or suspend, and than you only have to investigate those cases and decide(ban, suspend or no action)without feeling the rush to have all the reports sorted

maybe even making it so only members with at least 10(preferably 20 or 25) posts can create threads

I have to say I'm amazed at some of the responses I'm getting. It's a very simple premise I'm trying to explain - just follow the rules. It takes a lot more than one violation (in most cases), to get yourself banned. The people banned had a lot of violations and action was taken. Those users could have, at any time, stopped violating the Terms of Service and they would have been fine.

Look, I got a suspension for posting "In before the Lock". For two and a half days I had no idea what I'd done wrong- I thought maybe somebody didn't like the tone of the post in question. THEN a mod posted a warning saying people who post "In before the lock" will be suspended, or banned. How is that fair?

And I implore you to listen to Wise Lad. He is the most intelligent, kind poster this forum has, and one of the creaters of the infamous refuge. (Where none of this is a problem, might I add.)

He isn't talking about banning/suspending users! Only a new system of government on the forum, in which it is possible to RECCOMEND banning users. Did you even read his post?

We don't take recomendations when it comes to banning/suspending users. Any user can report any other user at any time for a volation of the TOS. We base our decision on the number of violations and the type of violation, it has nothing to do with any kind of preferential treatment.
Though his recommendations, aren't just about suspensions/bans, in fact they're hardly about them. It's more, of a way to help improve the forums here.
