Katara is the only mature character in the group, they NEED someone like her, and shes caring and nice too. Without her, the group would fall apart. I agree shes in the way of Taang and shes unuseful when she fights with Toph.

I aagree with everything you said but I have a problem with how quick Katara became a Master waterbender. When they had the waterbending scroll that was stolen from the pirates, she could barely do it, and Aang picked it up instanly. I know she had more determination than Aang to master waterbending, but with how much natural talent Aang had it would have taken her months to surpass him.

I don't know if Katara is necessarily better than Aang, but she takes it more seriously than he does. She probably paid more attention in class too. in addition she most likely practices more. It just seems like she progressed to quick.

It's not like the Waterbening Master and The Siege of the North (Part 1) took place in two days, also three weeks occured between The Siege of the North (Part 2) and Avatar State, so Katara obviously had more time to get better at Waterbending, it's not like it happened over night...

I realized this but i think it was stated that they were there for a month. However, it takes more than a month or two in order to perfect or master martial arts, which bending is based on.

katara isnt good enough yet + there was time - couple days(it doesn't take just 2 days to get fire navy fleet from fn to north pole) + she made everyone look bad + all the other students sucked so much + hell of a lot of determination.
but NOW shes good, didnt u see her moses?

Yeah, but it's a show, they can't take that long... Also she was determinded and Pakku said it himself that Katara has advanced more quickly than any other student he has ever tought, and that with fearce determination, passion, and hard work you can accompish anything, which she proved...

Katara has more focus than the free spirited airhead(pun intended)??Aang... Master Pakku even said it "You have proven with fierce determination, passion, and hard work, you can??accomplish anything. Raw talent alone is not??enough.(looks over at Aang playing with Momo)."

yeah I saw that one. It is going to be so cool when it comes out. I can hardly wait. I think that fight scene is going to rank among the SotN when aang went avatar state as the moon spirit and with the fight at the end of the blind bandit. Maybe not as good as the first scene I mentioned, but it'll awesome none-the-less.

I would think that zuko would win easily, but if he wants to stay in cognito (sp?) he might just stick to his broad swords. That would be pretty cool too.
