I really could get on board for this thread if it weren't for the fact that Swan-Swan is entirely insane and regularly posts melodramatic Avatar blogs on DA on a rather frequent basis.

She's a brilliant animator, but nuttier than a Christmas fruitcake.

Is there any CREDIBLE source for this release news anywhere else?

only possibly!!! the Amazon site that says "in stock" but it doesn't guarantee that it will get to your home long before May 20th

Well, this is what Dylan from DBF had to say.....

Sozin's Comet Book Shipping From Amazon May 08, 2008 at 06:04 PM Dylan here and... what? The Sozin's Comet Finale Adaptation is now shipping from Amazon. This is earlier than the May 20th release date. And also way earlier than the July finale. When Amazon says something is in stock, it is usually in stock. I ordered with overnight shipping and it is estimated to come May 13th (because of no shipping on weekends). Will this contain Finale spoilers? We can only hope not or the finale may not be any sort of a surprise like we expected. Thanks to LORDs_angellos for the heads up!

So true. Instead of doing that they should show the episodes.

O Great ... if this is real a this book comes out I'm not spoiling the series for me. I want to see the end with the episodes. I really hope this isn't true I don't want to find out what happens from a book or some idiot who doesn't know how to use spoiler tags.

I'm just going to take a peek at these forums, and if I detect the foul aroma of spoilers in the virual air, I will run. I will just stay away until the episodes air.

I had Crossroads of Destiny spoiled for me; just the bits about Toph metalbending and "The Earth-Kingdom has fallen", but still, really annoying.

God diehard purists will avoid Avatar fansites like the plague if that book even begins to unveil the sacred mysteries of the series finale.

But jeez it almost has to doesn't it?

I mean I have never read anywhere where Mike and Bryan said any of the Avatar books weren't canonized.

I would be shocked if this was an 'alternate finale' ending. I mean what would be the point?

Who cares what Joe Smoe ghost writer thinks. We want the Bryke ending.

    Ugh. This is a pickle.

Hopefully the book is total BS and Bryke didn't tell the author anything about the finale.

It does beg the question, 'Wtf Nick?'

I mean I wonder if this is market test numero dos for Avatar fandom? Marketing test one being the release to DVD only of WAT, FBM, BR:1 and BR:2.

I mean guys if Jake and Dylan from DBF get their Amazon copies and state clearly it's the bonafide ending to the series, can you imagine the sales for that book?

    They would literally skyrocket overnight.

Why can't they just show it on TV.

Another plan of Nick to milk Avatar to its core.

I wonder what the numbers were so far for the DVD. But I'm not sure that many people would buy the book if it's real since so many people seem to be really worried about spoilers. For once, I actually don't want spoilers and would rather watch the episode rather than read it in a book for 10-years-olds.

I'll be curious, but I'm not sure I want to spend $6 on a rather childish book that might completely ruin the finale. A finale I've been waiting for for months. But like I said, I'm curious, and curiousity might get the best of me.

They showed commercials for the DVDs?

Granted, I saw the Avatar commercial because I was watching Nick for an extended period of time (20 minutes) for the first time in a while, and got very lucky.

What you read may not be what you get...

I remember when the novelazation for X2: X-Men United came out. The ending of the book was totally different from the ending for the movie. It was done on purpose to promote sales for the movie and the book.

Even if the book comes out, it is not necessarily guaranteed that the events will be the same in the finale.
