I always thought she just saw their feet and kind of their basic shape from the weight they put into the ground.

But how would she see what's not touching the ground? I assumed she could just tell by weight.

No clue, I was just settling the issue about what she "sees" when she senses someone.

Maybe the vibrations travel from the earth to the person and back.

She can't se what she can't feel. She called Aang "Twinkletoes" in the blind bandit because he hovered above the ground and knocked her out. She does have a limited visibilty of site, which is why seh hates flying on Appa, bcuz she can only see what's on Appa, like in the library.

I think Toph can "see" a great deal more than she is given credit for. I think she can even makeout facial features and other things from her connection with the earth. *reflects for a moment* Toph rocks!

Well sometimes you post a message that should put a end to a pointless or doule(or triple ect..)thread and if people listened to you we would have less threads. But I have beat you once.On that favorie coulples thread.

I truly don't believe that's what she sees. I believe that the earth is an extension of her body and therefore when someone touches the earth near her, it's like they touch her, so he feels it. I could be wrong, however.

So he feels it? I know what you mean, and that's pretty much it.
