Scorch, Rin, and Fang had just made a new team of three and were deciding what to do next

"Oh My God," said Scorch, "two children now. Alright, Fang, we were going to Ba-Sin-Sa next..."

"Good," said Fang, "I've been needing to get back there."

"Perfect," said Rin, "why don't we get going."

Scorch sighed, "great, more walking. Unless, I doubt that you can fly?" He looked at Fang.

"Dude," chuckled Fang, "what don't you get about the words "air" and "bender"?"

"So, is that a yes?" asked Scorch. Fang pulled the rope and the two fabric wings came out.

"Whoa," said Rin, "that's so cool."

Scorch yawned, "yup, but, could we go in the morning? I'm too tired to fly tonight."

"Sure, man," said Fang, "we'll just leave bright and early." Scorch, Rin, and Fang slept in the barn overnight, and Scorch was woke up by the sun.

"Ugh," said Scorch as he rubbed his eyes, "so much for bright and early." He got up and picked up his helmet and a wooden stick and started banging them together. "Rise and shine, kiddos. It's bright and its early." Fang and Rin both woke up.??

"Darn, what time is it?" asked Fang.

"By the looks of the sun, its about noon," said Scorch.

"Noon?" asked Rin, "I thought we were gonna leave early..."

"Hey, this is early," said Fang.

"Yeah right," said Scorch, "we need to talk."

"Well, its good to be part of the team. But before we set out, I better clear up a few things. First off, I'm not the avatar, if that's what your thinking." It appeared that one had an effect, as Rin looked shocked. "Its true I can air-bend, but its been that way since I was born."

"Don't worry, it didn't even cross out minds", said Scorch. "Now, you said you wanted information. What kind of information?"

"I'm looking for 3 men, they were from the fire nation. I have.....personal reasons," I said, avoiding eye contact. My mind flashed back to the destruction and pain I had caused my village.

"Is something wrong," Scorch asked, eyeing him suspicously.

"No, nothing. Would you happen to know anything?" Scorch seemed to mull it over for a few minutes.

"Nothing comes to memory at the moment, sorry".

"Don't worry about it, if anything pops up, I hope you'll tell me. Anyway, no matter what the plan is, I need to return to Ba-Sing-Se, I have an order to pick up. Its something I need to airbend bet.....",I stopped mid-sentence, sensing a disturbance in the wind. "We're not alone". The barn suddenly exploded. ??

Scorch recognized the laugh that filled the air, "Rampage," said Scorch, "he's back." he saw Rampage's large figure in the smoke and saw a slightly smaller figure.

"And he's not alone," said Fang, "he has a really big guy with him."

"No," said Rin, "that IS Rampage. The smaller one is Savage." Savage charged at them and went straight for Rin, but Scorch got in the way and blasted him with fire. Savage fell back and slowly got up.

"Ah, so we don't run out of surprises, do we?" asked Rampage. The smoke cleared and revealed his awsome form.

"Crap," said Fang.

"Don't worry," said Scorch, "you and Rin take Savage. Rampage is mine." Scorch slowly walked toward Rampage and took fire in his palms. He threw the fire at Rampage, but something was wrong. The flame seemed to disappear and went into the Axe.

Rampage laughed, "an interesting artifact, eh? It took me long enough to what it did, but I finallly found out. Your bending won't help you anymore!" He lunged at Scorch and swung the axe at him. Scorch jumped over Rampage's axe and lunged at him, quickly kicking him the private place and heard a metallic sound.

"Oh, don't worry Scorch," said Rampage, "I'm way ahead of you." Scorch jumped up and kicked Rampage in the jaw.

"You seem to forget, fire bending isn't all I'm good at," said Scorch, "you may not remember, but when I'm FORCED to fight hand to hand, I fight dirty!" Scorch quickly looked around and saw his helmet lying on the ground and quickly put it on. He rammed into Rampage's stomach and the horns went inside. Scorch pulled back. He saw a big 2X4 on the ground and grabbed it while he could. Rampage was kneeled over and Scorch hit him in the back forcing him to fall down. Scorch noticed that Savage was down too.

"Rin, Fang!" exclaimed Scorch, "follow me!" They all ran up the hill and saw the blazing inferno that wa the city and a fire nation flag began to rise. Fang was on the ground resting.

"Guys, let's get going," said Scorch, Rin looked at him, "okay, guys and gals, let's get going."

??Fang stood up and pulled the rope on his back and the wings extended. "Rin, get in my arms," said Scorch.

"What?" she asked, "I can fly by myself."

"I know," said Scorch, "but, with Fang here, I don't want to slow him down."

"Oh, okay," said Rin. Scorch extended his arms and she hopped in.

"Yup," muttered Fang, "they're boyfriend and girlfriend alright."

"What was that?" asked Rin.

"Oh, nothing," said Fang. They went outside and Fang prepared to take off.

"Hey, wait," said Scorch, "I want to talk real quick. Once we get over the serpant's pass, we will proceed on foot. I doubt me and Rin would be welcome if we're seen fire bending."

"Okay," said Fang, "but, let's make this more interesting. It's actually a simple game. We race, and whoever gets there first, gets to kiss Rin." Scorch swallowed.

"Okay, I'm fine with that," said Rin, "what about you Scorch?"

He looked down at her and said, "yeah, sure. First one over the serpant's pass wins. I'll give you a three second head start, just to keep things interesting."

"Sure," said Fang, "do we start now?"

"Go," said Scorch. Fang flew into the air, "Three...two...one!" Scorch began to rise into the air and flew forward faster than Rin had ever seen. He slowly began to catch up to Fang, "Here comes fire!" he yelled just as they passed Fang. Rin looked down and noticed the fire had turned white. They came to the winding canyons that were the precursers to the serpant's pass. They got about half way over when Fang passed them. Scorch began to accelerate and Rin looked down again and saw the flame had turned blue. They passed Fang just at the last second and Scorch turned around and exclaimed, "Advantage Scorch!" Scorch had won the race and landed and let Rin touch the ground.
