Fang challenged Scorch to a contest to see who could get over the Serpent???s pass faster. The winner would receive a kiss from Rin. Scorch landed first and won.

They hadn???t been together for very long, but they knew they liked each other. It was almost a silent agreement.

Rin felt like her face was on fire. She swore she could see steam coming from her face.

???So???uhhh?????? She couldn???t think of anything to say. Scorch was speechless too.

???Look, you won, Scorch. Don???t chicken out now!??? Fang teased.

Scorch only got annoyed. ???You shut up?????? He said through gritted teeth.

Fang laughed sheepishly and reminded himself to be quiet or Scorch would have it in for him later. He backed away slowly.

Scorch towered over her. At just over six feet, he dwarfed her by at least half a head. It was almost intimidating, but Rin had become used to his presence. But not like this. Her heart was beating a hundred miles an hour by the time she looked up at Scorch, who was equally flustered and looking away.

???Scorch?????? She was lost for words. She took his hands instead and looked into his eyes. They were both blushing as their faces inched closer, and closed their eyes. Finally their lips met, and Scorch held Rin???s face in his hands. She could feel his breathing and his heart. It was almost intoxicating.

After a long moment, Scorch pulled away. They stared at each other for a second until Fang finally called them.

???All right, now that that???s settled, we???re still going to Ba Sing Se now, right? Or were you planning your honeymoon???? He joked.

Rin kicked him in the shin, and Fang cried out in pain. ???Usually I???d think that???s funny, but I???ll make an exception.??? She giggled. ???Let???s go.???
