Well darn, I'm a little late to the party.
I've decided to try and write another one, but none of the characters from the original will return, at least in their original format. Yes, I actually plan on finishing this one, but it'll be shorter and only have about ten segments. They'll be longer and the reason I know I can finish this one is because I'll have a much better plotline that's already made out before I start writing.
That is all.

Actually I don't agree with your leadership skills. does that count????
SO UMM... I know that we started the new season and that we haven't started the new season yet (I'm still trying to figure that one out)
anywho my question is doo wee start typing/posting the new season or not?
Wait, has ultimate confusion and Bio-mo-reig(srry for killing that one) finished their post?
"ultimate confusion"-Shut up, 9. Just post if you really can't hold it in.
Dak(White fire)
Later that night during Bai Mao's visit
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Dak was wandering the cramped, dark, and hot halls of the Volcano's interior. Or so it seemed. He was actually making loops checking when the guards changes and where they were stationed. He was also mapping the layout in his head as he walked, since it had been so long since he was here the first time and everything seemed different. He also made note of several side tunnels that served to cool the interior by funneling heated air to the surface, and that there were openings at regular intervals in each hall. He made sure no one was watching and stepped into one. the heat was immediate and searing. he could see he flesh visibly starting to darken and burn. It took every bit of firebending power in him just to avoid that, although the pain was still immense. He quickly jumped out of the shaft and stumbled into the adjacent wall, gasping for cooler air and sweating.
There were footsteps around the corner. Dak jolted up and tried to mask what had happened. He patted down his clothes, wiped the smudges of soot off of his face, and stifled his raspy coughs. So he waited, leaned up against the wall, waiting for some lavabender to walk by and give him a polite nod. A few seconds later, Tsaya walked around the corner and spotted Dak. He was cursing every spirit with a name as she drew closer. Once they were face to face, there was a moment of silence. Dak staring straight ahead, Tsaya inspecting the singed clothing and smudges.
She cleared her throat and started slowly, "What happened to you?"
"I, uh, tripped. And, uh, I fell. ...Into, um, that hole over there." Dak's expression was stony, but he was kicking himself on the inside.
She looked at the shaft and then back at Dak. "That is one of our cooling shafts. You're lucky you weren't burned alive."
"I train regularly in the art of covering myself in fire. It was nothing, really." he replied.
"She looked over him and seemed impressed. "How would you like to come to my quarters for some water? no doubt you need it."
"Ah, yes. Sounds nice."
She smiled and motioned for Dak to follow her. He complied and she led them back the way she came. After a few minutes of walking and a confusing set of turns, they reached her quarters. The door was a tall black stone carved with odd symbols and insignias, probably of the Volcano's Spirit. She waved her hand to the left and the stone slid soundlessly into the wall, revealing an entrance into a large chamber with black silk drapes surrounding it and torches along the walls that burned purple and cast an eerie light across the middle of the room. There was a basin of water here, and Dak couldn't understand how it was just sitting out and not evaporating. Then, he stepped into the room and felt a sudden chill. It was as if the volcano ceased to heat here in her room, and was refreshing to Dak's lungs and small burns. Dak was about to ask how, but she pointed him to the basin in the center of the room and he obliged, walking up tp take a drink.
"I know you're wondering how this room is so cool. I have a group of lavabenders here that constantly bend the heat away from and out of this place. They have been blinded and deafened so they are not even aware of our presence right now. Nor can they tell my secrets."
Dak finished his drink and wiped the water from his mouth. "And what are those, Lady?"
She sat on the edge of a large black silk-clad bed and crossed her legs. "Many things. Many things..." She said smoothly and softly.
Dak figured he could make the best of this increasingly odd situation. "Your place in your father's rule, maybe?"
"Such treason!" she said fiercely in the same soft tone.
Dak swore internally again. He thought he had her pegged. He must have been wrong-
"Such wonderful treason! You wasted no time. I'm glad to see that at least you know who would best lead us to victory and domination. Only a very few others have sided with me." she was excited now, Dak could hear her voice pitch as she exclaimed this.
"You are very ambitious, My Lady."
"Why so formal? Come, sit with me. Let's discuss this matter." She slid over to make room for Dak.
He felt that he was getting dangerously close to several things he did not want. His cover blown, this wicked woman, or his bond with Rae disturbed.
"Sorry, Lady. I am tired and must rest." He bowed low.
She was frowning, but she nodded in agreement. "Then go if you must. Perhaps another night."
Dak agreed and turned to walk out. Little did she know that in little time, there would be a rebellion, but not the one she wanted.

I tried to make her a bit seductive and manipulative. Filler. Waiting for the rest of Chad's post(since he always seems to post in two parts without telling us) and the all clear to go ahead.
This one's really short, but neccesary. I also appeared to have lost some of my eloquence. also, recurrence of an old character
Bai Mao (Firebender, pudao)
In the fortress
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
At midnight, I had decided to survey the outside while I planned. Outside the fortresson three sides was wasteland, but the south side led way to fields, most likely to supply food. further out was a forest, lush and green against the rest of the island. Just outside the walls of the fortress was a smaller replica of it. It was in many states of disrepair, and I figured it to be the slave compound. I walked around the place a few times, looking for weak points in the structure. There were way too many. I looked through a window at the slaves,
I heard voices and hid myself in a bush. Thirty or so slaves were moving in the night. It was a procession of the youngest of the bunch that were recently brought. I followed a distance behind, watching as they stayed as close to the wall as possible. They came to a spot, and the two escorts, who were apparently earthbenders, lifted a section of the grassy ground like a trapdoor. The children went underground, one of the escorts accompanying them. As the other walked to the compound, I followed silently. When we were far enough from the walls, I grabbed him by the back of his neck.
"Don't turn around," I said. "I'm on your side. First of all, where are those kids going?"
He gulped and replied, "To the forest. We're hiding out there."
"How long has this been going on?"
"About three months. We started with the oldest. Said they got sick from plague. It was Rieji's idea."
"You know Rieji?"
"We all do. She was our leader. You the one with the eyepatch?"
I was surprised. "Who told you?"
"New kid. Earthbender. Has a twin sister. He spends pretty much the whole day in the castle, hiding in the walls. Makes a good spy. Rieji sent a message through him about the dagger. When's the breakout?"
"Keep the escapes going. In three days, I'll make sure everyone gets here."
Actually, I was trying to make your name simpler. And just "9" if your going to reduce mine in a retort then you should use more imagination. Heck your could of used "7 of 9" or "69"
And actually i cant post right now because... my stupid laptop with all my files is in the shop and i don't have a hard copy to work with (sigh)
Ok. YES. People, the new season started. I said it started and that's final. The new season begain when the old one died, there was no inbetween time, there was no "waiting" for others to finish.
The new season did not start when TLG finally got off his butt and typed his own finale, it started before.
And the new season basically started when everybody accepted the fact that we had been stagnant for that season too long. I'm just glad TLG was finally getting the picture when I started saying "OK PEOPLE, YOUR NEW SEASON IS NOW." and then he's like, "OK, since everybody else is doing it, let's do it."
And that's how it went. I'm really crunched to type right now, story wise, because I'm still getting critique from the outside about what they think, and I wanted more story concepts and opinions from my friends, So I'm waiting for them to read it.
But as soon as I get 4 hours where I don't feel like doing anything else but type my newest chapter, then my first chapter for this season will take a while to make. Also, when the new layout was made, I discovered they shortened the number of words you could post per post, so my super long stories have to wait.
And remember; I don't type short stories: I type chapters now. 5-7 pgs.
I look forward to reading all the new stuff you guys got like the bible with mah hot chocolate and extra time before school starts when I wake up tommorow, so expect some comments then.
Hi,ok,anyone remember my character name? Lol, i forget things easily! |
Mike: He he, Blind Deaf Lavabenders. THAT's Convenient. XD But interesting. I guess they just gouge their eyes and play death metal in their ears when they were little kids.
But in all seriousness, I like that scene with the cooling shafts that Dak had to walk through. I would've liked to hear more about what it looked like. I imagined it was a narrow tunnel where he had to crouch and walk on hot lava to get through. That's how I understood it anyway. Maybe there was lava dripping and he had to avoid it.
All in all it sounds pretty intersting.
Bai: I'm still a little confused about what is happening to your main character, but the story itself is still a story. Not sure what that means, but I never had much to say in the first place. XD
