Ariel (waterbender), Chase (firebender)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ariel and Chase borded the blue ship, Jasmine and Lu Ten right behind them. Then ship then started to move and they were on their way to the nearest island by the volcano. Ariel looked over the rail of the ship and gazed at the water, sighing as thoughts whirled through her head.
"I hate ships", Ariel commented out loud as she continued her unwavering gaze towards the water.
"And why is that?", Chase asked, his back leaning on the rail.
"Because some of the worst things in my life happened dealing with ships" Ariel answered.
"And they are?", Chase asked
"Well the last time I was riding on a ship was when I was banished from the Fire Nation, before that I had lost two other important people to me and the last time I had saw them was on ships. But atleast one of those two people came back to me, the other is well...", Ariel, unable to continue her statement, jus stared out into the water some more, hanging her head down.
"You're talking about me and dad aren't you?", Chase asked, even though it was more like a statement. His mood suddenly changed as he mentioned his dad, his head hanging just like his sister.
"Yes I am talking about you and dad. The person who I never can seem to get the full story about." Ariel stated, some anger detected in her voice.
"Because it's not time for you to know yet" Chase stated back.
"Why is that? I'm his child too you know. Why does is it seem like everbody knows how he died but me. I bet even our dear uncle, who he hated, even knows. But his dear old daughter, the one who ended having to watch our mother die, can't even get a clue on the way he died. All I know is that he was captured by earthbenders, thats it. I want to know more Chase, and I want to know now!", Ariel demanded
"Look, I would like to tell you, but I can't. It's just complicated that's all. Besides you probably couldn't handle it if I told you", Chase responded. 'I still have problems handling it, and I've been dealing with the knowledge for years' Chase thought as he looked up towards the sky.
"How would you know if I could handle-" Ariel was cutoff by her brother's sighing.
"Because I know you, that's why. You're already getting all riled up by not knowing and if I told you right now, you would go and kill every earthbender with us in their sleep and you know it. When you are able to get your anger under a better control, then I'll tell but not before then. And not another word on this topic right now, we have enough things to worry about and thinking about this isn't going to help." Chase stated. Ariel rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth, annoyed at her brother.
"Yeah, whatever. I just hope that this volcano has geysers or some type of water that I can use or it looks like I'll be using my fans throughout the entire fight." Ariel commented.
"I'm sure there's gonna be something that you can use other than your fans, if not, then I gotcha back sis", Chase stated, smirking at his sister. She smiled and shook her head stating
"You have no choice but to watch my back, bro." She looked at the water once more when she felt her brother's arm wrap around her shoulders. They both looked up to the sky when Chase spoke.
"I miss mom and dad", he stated, his voice almost in a whisper.
'I miss them too. I wonder what they would say if they could see us two now?" Ariel asked, leaning onto Chase's shoulder.
"They'd probably say that they are proud to have a handsome firebender such as myself for a son and a crazy pyschomaniac waterbender for a daughter", he stated.
"Whatever", Ariel responded, hitting him softly in the side as he laughed.
"I'm just kidding lil' sister. I really don't know what they would say. But I know that they would be happy to see both of their children together even after their deaths.", Chase stated, hugging his sister to his side.
"Yeah they would be happy. I love you big bro.", Ariel stated.
"Love you too lil sis. Now if you excuse me, I think I smell food and man am I hungry", Chase responded as he let go of his sister.
"Your always hungry" Ariel commented as she followed behind him.
"And your always b*tchy, but hey who's complainin?", he asked as Ariel gave him a smug look. Then sound of a large whip slashing through the air followed by a loud cry could be heard as a water whip hit Chase, creating an abnormally large lump on top of his head.
I can post on Monday, If I know what I supposed to be doing now. My plan was a tiny bit different. Chad, pm me please. I'll post as soon as I can.
EDIT: I mean after I've gotten in and convinced them. Kill them on the spot? *shrug*
Dak(White fire)
Off to the volcano.
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Dak and Bai Mao had set out in a separate ship, ahead of the others. Bai Mao was at the wheel, and Dak was bent over the edge of the ship's railing, puking his guts out.
"We're almost there, according the map." Bai Mao called out to him.
"Thanks the spirits!" Dak made one last heaving retch and shakily made his way to the back of the ship. He sat down on the deck and leaned up against the rail with his head between his knees.
"You okay?"
"I don't have anything left to puke, but I can't tell if that's good or bad."
They were silent for a while. After nearly an hour, Bai Mao called out to Dak.
"Hey, I see... land, I think."
Dak stood up slowly and walked up to where Bai Mao was. There was a brown speck in the distance, clearly visible against the setting sun. Minute after minute, it grew larger and larger. The sun set and night fell before they were close enough to see how massive the volcano really was. It stood at least a thousand feet tall and even wider around the base. The ridge was jagged and cracked, and at the base an ominous gaping rip in the rock wall formed a sort of entrance into the volcano. There was a system of docks surrounding the island, and as they got closer, they saw the torches burning in the fields around the base, and the slaves that were working them. Dak's seasickness had disappeared. He was staring intently at the slaves, and then to the entrance of the volcano.
As they docked the ship, they noticed that there were no traders outside, which would make their approach much easier. They tied the ship down and crossed the lava field to the entrance. As they got closer, they saw two statues on either side of the hole. They were like demons, with twisted faces and curved tusks protruding from their mouths. In their hands, fires burned, fueled by oil in the base of the staute.
"The spirit of the volcano. The lavabender's patron. Vuln worships it. It the reason he does all of this." Dak muttered.
"Insane. All of these slaves, all of this violence for some spirit?" Bai Mao replied.
"Yeah, but not for much longer." Dak was hushed now as they entered the entrance and saw the traders mulling about in an assembly area.
Dak tried to avoid their eyes, as there was still a large bounty on his head, and he couldn't risk a fight with so many of them. He spotted a lavabender standing guard at a large steel gate. Dak walked cautiously up to him and cleared his throat.
The lavabender looked at him with disgust. "No, you may not enter the hearing chambers. You may set up your tents in this area only. Our Lord Vuln thanks you for your contribution, but I must ask you to stop dirtying the air around me. Good evening."
"You don't understand, Brother, I come to see the Master. I have news for our Lord." Dak replied, with a curt bow.
The lavabender regarded him differently now. "What business do you have with Lord Vuln?"
Dak showed him the pudao. "I have brought His enemies to justice, and come to rejoin the fold."
The lavabender looked Dak over for a second and nodded. "Name?"
"My name is Dak."
"His name?"
"Hawjo. He's mute, but he is my faithful second-in-command."
The lavabender bowed. "Wait here."
He passed through the gate. After a few minutes, he returned. "Right this way, sir." He showed them through the gate and into a great hall, lined with more spirit statues and large burners. The floor had an opulent red silk rug stretching from the gate to a raised throne. There was an old man seated here, with a young woman on his right, and a man on his left. Dak's pulse jumped. It was Kar. There, in front of him. His hands began to shake and his heart pounded in his chest. A light touch on the shoulder from Bai Mao reminded him of their mission however, and he struggled to control himself.
When the reached the bottom step of the throne, Dak got to his knees and bowed. Bai Mao followed suit.
"No, no! Stand up, let me see your face." Vuln called down.
Dak stood and raised his face to the trio. He could see the fury etched on Kar's face. Vuln's piercing red eyes were fixed on Dak.
"So... What is this you have brought me?"
Dak slid the sheath off of the pudao and laid it on the ground. "I have killed Bai Mao, Lord, and brought you his Pudao."
"Bai Mao... This is the one you spoke of, Kar? The dangerous one? The one who bested you and sent you off with your tail between your pathetic, shameful legs?"
There was an eerie silence.
"And yet, this boy has done what you could not! Explain!" the sudden outburst made nearly everyone except Tsaya, Bai Mao, Kar, and Dak flinch.
"My Lord, I know this... man... And he cannot be trusted. He was a slave. In the arena. Less than human, he fought like an animal. He is no friend of ours." Kar replied.
"Is this true, Dak?" Vuln questioned.
"Yes, my Lord. But I was captured doing your work. I was attacking Fire Nation Targets, and was enslaved. I had no choice. But I wasted no time after my escape, and found your enemies. I assured this Bai Mao that I would aid him, and once he made his plans known to me, I killed him and scattered his forces. They do not know his plan, for he kept his secrets close. I have ended his plot against you, my Lord."
Another long silence.
Kar broke it, "My Lord, you can't be considering this as the truth."
"Be quiet, Kar." Vuln said, contemplating what Dak had said.
"He's lying, my Lord!" Kar said, loosing his temper.
"Silence!" the fires on each side of the throne flared a brilliant shade of white as he spoke.
"This boy has accomplished what you could not, and your jealousy and personal feeling have clouded the magnitude of his actions. Make yourself useful and do your rounds, before I forget myself." Vuln threatened in a low voice.
Dak breathed an inward sigh of relief, if not for Kar angering Vuln, they might not have sold the story. "Thank you my Lord. Your praise means so much to me." Dak said with a small bow.
"It is well-earned. Now, bring me the fool's pudao, so I may display it among my collection." Vuln ordered.
Dak grabbed it and approached the throne. He offered the pudao to Vuln, raisinf it above his head as he bowed. Vuln took it, and admired the weapon.
"Such fine craftmanship..."
"He was an accomplished blacksmith, among other things." Dak replied to the statement.
"Do I hear admiration?" Vuln retorted.
"Even enemies can respect one another, my Lord." Dak said with another bow.
Vuln smiled a little. "Now, you must be tired. I will let Tsaya show you to your rooms. Tsaya, dear, would you?"
She bowed her head an replied, "Yes, Father. This way, please."
She quickly lead them off a side passage to a small flight of stairs, which they took down a few floors. After a few minutes of walking, she stopped and motioned to two doors on opposite sides of the hallway.
"These are your rooms. I'll have the servants bring you fresh clothes shortly." She looked at Hawjo, "Welcome-" and to Dak, "-It is nice to have a Brother return.".
She left in the opposite direction from the way they came and disappeared quickly.
"So, we're in. Nice plan." Dak said.
"Yeah, now we have to find the slaves and get ready." Bai Mao replied.
"Great. See you tomorrow."
"Night."

Damn you computer repairman, To Hell with you for taking my computer again and again and not even doing anything with it!
Chad, it would be great if you would continue, but I understand your situation.
Hey guyz, story are finished.
I'm not continuing my original story. I'm far from happy with the development or the lore I've set up. I feel like I've strayed way too far from what I wanted, and it upsets me, so this story is over.
I might start a new one with new characters, yeah yeah, I know some of you think Khuzo is badass, but badasses don't make badass stories, so unless everything is badass, I'm not continuing the story, becuase to me, it's become ass, not badass, which is wrong.
So, yeah, every character magically died, and the story is over. End.

@Confucius: Wow, Bai Mao is dead? Well, good dramatic/excerpt and story. I could see it as Dak handed over bai mao's belonging to lord vuln, and I could detect the slyness coming from it as well. Very good. Unless I'm mistaken or something. |

Don't really feel like I took it in any appropriate direction.
So yeah, they all died. Horribly.
