he doesn't have enough fangirls to draw attention to this post not to mention this movie. Their so wasting money on him. if they only care about fame they should of gotten that gay guy from high school musical. zac efron i think is his name.
ew, no. Then we'd have to see Zuko doing girly dance moves. Cause for some reason Zac is always mixing up the steps & doing vanessa's dance parts.

All I know is that I'm currently imagining Jesse McCartney bald with a black pony tail coming out of his head...

As for him as Zuko, I want to see what he can do. But it was definately a shocker.

This is what I think about a related topic. Nickelodeon is linked to MTV. Jesse is a regular on MTV (I just saw him today, btw). The movie will get big advertisment and promotion on MTV and attract Jesse fan girls and other teenaged fans.

wow, i dont know what they were thinking when they picked him... the actress for katara isn't exactly her color, but that can be worked out, i guess. um same for sokka. i thought they were gonna use unknowns?

So instead of a good movie we a bunch of 14 year old fan girls who drag their boyfriends along and spend the whole movie going "why is he doing this? Why did he do that? Why does Jesse not have hair?"

I understand that the movie will get attention and they will make money off selling tickets, but it's a shame it'll be because of fan girls and not fans of the series

Well, maybe it'll grow into a love of the series. That's like a batman fanatic saying to people who went to see The Dark Night "Hey, you better be seeng this because you love batman, not because you love heath Ledger".

If Heath Ledger can pull of the Joker then maybe Jesse can pull off Zuko.

oh HAIL no! WTF!? since when did this Jesse McCartney thing happen? there's absolutely no way he's gonna play Zuko. it just wont work! plus im positive that M.Night wanted an entirely unknown cast, im pretty sure he'll stick to that... right? gawd oh gawd please not McCartney!!!!!!!!!

this had better be a rumor joke. it has to be.

btw ive met Jesse once during a private concert (i wasnt there for him, just w/ a friend). he acts likes he's the coolest guy in a room, too cool or chill for anyone to be around. then next thing you know, he's wandering around backstage all by himself (even w/o his cell phone), loner-weirdo i'd say by that point.

shymalan never specificly said he wanted the whole cast to be unknown. i once sent paramount an emaiil asking about other roles and they said right now the website was only for aang. they will be looking at more experienced actors through live auditions through agents later on.

*raises* I'm all in for the possibility. Yes, he's not my personal pick as well the rest of the current cast obviously. But who knows? If the entire cast ends up portraying their roles very, VERY well, (I'm still having high expectations for this....ridiculously high expectations. >>; ) then I won't have too much of a problem about how close the actors resemble to their roles....Just as long as they DO look a little like the characters at the least by the time they're filming.

i've had low expectations from the start. I stated that the main reason this movie would fail is the cast. I knew they wouldn't get people who look the part. I never thought that they would choose some fail actor for zuko's part though.
I wish they had just made an animated movie about them defeating koh. that would of been much better.

*raises* I think Jesse has a ton of room to surprise me, but then again, I haven't heard much from him recently, so I am hoping he has improved a lot since his Disney days (however, his job with Roxas on KH2 was really good...I didn't even know it was him until recently). The rest of the cast is relatively unknown and, honestly, I think that if they were known, as is the case with Jesse, all of us would still be dissatisfied as we all think that this movie deserves the best cast ever. I know I am going to go into this with extremely high expectations because the show was so so so good. I am hoping that, even if the acting is bad, it will still be cool to see the bending in real life. I am just hoping that the same thing doesn't happen with this and the last TV-show-to-movie movie I saw: Ben 10:Race Against Time was horrible, so I'll just cross my fingers that this isn't a repeat of that.

I'm raising my hand too. At first i was a bit worried about Jesse's acting skills. But after looking up some of his stuff on youtube I'm pretty happy with him and the rest of the cast. As of now i have no problems with those chosen for the main roles. Except the kid playing Aang... I still have no clue who he is, what he looks like or if he can act.
