Well, if she is in the movie, I bet she'd play Toph.

Absolutely, his rendition of that cop in sin city is inspiringly similar to a Toph personality.

Am I joking? Only a little.

Avoiding the movie because of an all white cast is terribly racist, though I do sypathize with those who don't like it.

Besides, if they're stupid enough to do that it'll be easy enough to hate it for all the other mistakes they'll make instead of being racist.

Oh, and you can be racist against a majority. Bigotry is not limited by numbers.

Nah, you're crazy @_@ Mr.T should play Toph. I pity the fool that disagrees. It would also give the cast some diversity that everyone seems to be craving

I was just watching some interviews of the guy who is playing sokka, and judging from his personality, I think he could make a pretty good sokka personality wise...

I'm not going to see it because i know its not gonna be as good as the show. They should of made an animated movie of them defeating koh. I'd also like to know if their ever going to show zuko finding his mother. Them leaving retarded loose ends like that made me hate the final ep.

In my experience, a movie boils down to a few crucial elements:

Writing- The story must be clever, catchy, fun, dramatic and most-importantly inspiring. If the Avatar script/sequence of events is left mostly the same, there shouldn't be a problem here.

Acting- The actors must make their characters relatable, interesting, and seem realistic. There is alot of debate about the chosen casts, but not so much about ability as racial representation. I guess we've pretty much accepted that however the actors look, their ability will be about the same, however good or bad that may be.

Music- If the score is good, a dull movie can become a masterpiece. Avatar has a superb musician composing the score, which REALLY excites me!

Directing/Editing- As long as transitions are smooth and understandable, this usually isn't an issue. M.Night has a reputation of choosing silly stories to direct, but he still always does a decent to excellent job on them. We'll see how this all pans out.

Shyamalan is a good director. It's just his past few ideas weren't that clever, but this is Avatar. I'm sure this will be M. Night's "Circus". This will make up for the past few movie. We just have got to be optomistic about this. People are making a big fuss about the casting choices IMO. The story is not about how the actors look. It is about their stories and their backrounds. It is about the teachings of hope, honor, courage, and destiny. As long as the actors get the right backround and story, then it will be as if we were still watching the cartoon. We are insinuating race into a place where it does not exist. The main characters are just people. We are all just people. It does not matter if ablack man plays Ozai. It doesnt matter if an Asian plays Albert in Batman. Heck, it wouldn't matter if Aang was played by a Mexican. This has happened before. One example is Catwoman played by Halle Berry. The point is that we should try to enjoy the characters because of their rich backrounds and story, not because of the color. I don't care if the main cast is black, yellow, or has stripes like a f**kin zebra. As long as the movie is written and transitioned nicels, has good effects, and a decent script, it should be good.

wow haven't seen you post in ages.

As far as i'm concerned its not going to have alot of stuff from the show which is retarded considering this will be a cr@ppy remake with human actors who don't resemble who their portraying. It would of been so much better if they had thought of a new plot and kept it animated.
